'The Full Monty' (1997) marked an entire generation. It was a viral phenomenon that even coined a new term for exotic dancing thanks to its title.
In addition, 'TheFull Monty' was nominated for four Oscars in four of the most relevant categories: Best Film, Best Director (Peter Cattaneo), Best Original Screenplay (Simon Beaufoy), and Best Original Score. They would only win the last one, but it was one of the best surprises of the year.

In 2022, the movie, which was a reference for many middle-aged men to loosen up a bit, celebrated its 25th anniversary. In addition, Disney+ streamed a series of 'The Full Monty' in 2023. Where did the actors from the original movie go?
Robert Carlyle was arguably the cast member with the most popularity. In 'The Full Monty', the Scottish actor had a main role and delivered an incredible performance as the head of an amateur group of strip-per men.
The actor (right) had just starred in the hit movie 'Trainspotting' (1996). He would also appear in 'The World is Not Enough' (1999), 'The Beach' (2000), and '28 Weeks Later' (2007).
However, it's on the small screen where he has had his biggest successes. The most important role of his TV career was Rumpelstiltskin in 'Once Upon A Time…' (2011-2018). Carlyle played that character in the seven seasons of the series.
More recent roles were the character of Prime Minister Robert Sutherland in the Sky One political drama 'Cobra' and the reprise of his role as Gaz in the series 'The Full Monty' (2023).
The actor also reprised his role as Begbie in the sequel of 'Trainspotting' that came out in 2017.
In the beginning, the 'Full Monty' character Dave is the most skeptical of the group to take off his clothes, but he ends up being very involved in the whole thing.
Dave Addy's charisma and talent helped him build an enormous career. He was Fred Flintstone in 'The Flintstones in Viva Rock Vegas' (2000), Roland in the memorable 'A Knight's Tale' (2001), and Frier Tuck in 'Robin Hood' (2010).
On TV he confirmed his popularity with his important role in the first season of the acclaimed HBO series 'Game of Thrones'. There, the actor played the character of King Robert Baratheon.
More recently, we have seen Addy in shows like 'White House Farm', 'New Blood' and 'The Salisbury Poisonings'. The actor also appeared in the 'Downtown Abbey' (2019) movie as Mr. Bakewell.
In 2023, Addy returned to his famous role of Dave in the series 'The Full Monty.' Here we see the original cast, 25 years earlier.
Fit and handsome, Guy was the most attractive member of the group. The only problem was that he didn't know how to dance at all, but that was the least of the group's problems in 'The Full Monty'.
The actor has starred in many movies, particularly in 'Nymphomaniac' (2013) by Lars Von Trier and the musical film 'Swing' (1999) with Lisa Stansfield. Like his other castmates, he has also dominated the (British) television industry since 'The Full Monty' was released.
In recent times, the actor has starred in the TV shows 'Skins', 'Bedlam', 'Haven', 'The Musketeers', 'Britannia'. His most recognizable roles have been Detective David Bradford in 'London Kills' and Guy in 'The Full Monty' (2023).
The oldest of the cast, Tom Wilkinson played Gerald, a factory foreman who is hiding from his wife that he is unemployed.

Since 1976, Wilkinson built an impressive filmography. In fact, he's been nominated for an Oscar twice; first for 'In the Bedroom' (2001) and then, for 'Michael Clayton' (2007). He also starred in the movies 'The Grand Budapest Hotel' (2014) and 'The Happy Prince' (2018).
Tom Wilkinson OBE passed away in his home in London from cardiac arrest on the second-to-last day of 2023 (December 30). He was 75 years old.
Lomper is a security guard at the still factory. He tries to end his life when he loses his job, but the new Full Monty plan of his mates gives him a reason to live.
After the movie was released, the actor spent 14 years and 192 episodes in the TV show 'Coronation Street' (1997-2011). Steve Huison has also been part of '4 O'Clock Club', 'Doctors,' and the historical show 'Brigantia'. He's also returned to 'The Full Monty' - the series - in 2023.
Paul Barber turned 'Horse' into a lovable character. He's a veteran of the industry with more than 50 years in the profession.
'The Full Monty' was his acting breakthrough. Since then, we have seen him in shows like 'Coronation Street', 'Doctors', 'The Slammer', and 'Casualty'. He also returned with his 'Full Monty' mates for the Disney+ series.
The son of Gaz encourages his father to never abandon his friends. The actor behind this role has used his debut in 'The Full Monty' as the start of a significant career in the industry.
Like other cast members, Snape has starred in 'Coronation Street' and 'Doctors' as well as the movies 'Lost a Girl' (2015) and the TV show 'Gentleman Jack' (2019). His most recent works include the miniseries 'The Beaker Girls' (2021-23) and the show 'The Full Monty' (2023).
The actress played the role of Gaz's partner in 'The Full Monty' and was nominated for a BAFTA for that role. Unsurprisingly, she has built an incredible filmography and continued to appear on the big and small screen, as well as in the theater, since the hit film.
Among her recent works are the TV shows 'Three Girls' (2017), 'Living the Dream' (2017-2019), 'Before We Die' (2021), and two episodes of the Netflix show 'Fate: The Winx Saga', also in 2021.
Lesley Sharp also starred in 'The Full Monty', the series of 2023. There, she reunited with quite a few people from the original cast.
