Billy Ray Cyrus' express marriage comes to an end

Billy Ray Cyrus has filed for divorce from his wife, the singer Firerose... after only 7 months of marriage.

The 62-year-old country artist filed the relevant paperwork on 22 May in a Tennessee court, according to TMZ.

The question on everyone's lips is, how could the marriage have lasted so short a time? Perhaps the allegations made by Billy Ray Cyrus will shed some light.

TMZ has had access to the documents filed in court, where the artist claims 'irreconcilable differences' with Firerose, whose real name is Johanna Rose Hodges, 30.

However, Miley Cyrus' father also accuses his wife of 'fraud' and 'inappropriate marital behavior'. At the moment, Billy Ray Cyrus does not provide any further details about the accusation.

To make things worse, the artist is not only seeking a divorce, but an absolute annulment of the marriage. To achieve this, the couple is said to have reached a financial agreement to facilitate Firerose's separation process.

According to TMZ, Billy Ray Cyrus reportedly gave his wife until 24 May to leave the marital home, giving her $500 a night for 10 days to find temporary accommodation.

Once out of the home, the singer reportedly agreed to pay Firerose around $5,000 a month to find a suitable home in Tennessee for three months or until the divorce proceedings are finalised, whichever comes first.

The marriage has been tainted with controversy since its inception. The couple met in 2021, recorded several songs together, and even released 'New Day' in the summer of 2021, performing together at festivals and galas across the southern United States, to considerable success.

After many rumours about the couple, Billy Ray Cyrus, who was still married, decided to divorce Tish Cyrus in April 2022, to whom he had been married since 1993. It was the third divorce attempt, after more in 2010 and 2013, but this one was final.

While Tish Cyrus quickly rekindled her life with 'Prison Break' star Dominic Purcell, Billy Ray Cyrus got engaged to Firerose, confirming rumours of more than just a musical collaboration between the two.

In October 2023, the couple tied the knot. The most 'perfect' and ethereal 'celebration of love' has ended in a canonical divorce, barely 7 months later. Although the end is yet to come...
