With the change of seasons, many people find that they are losing more hair than usual. Why does that happen, and how can we solve it?
One way is to buy a shampoo that matches our hair type and massage it into the roots so as to oxygenate the hair. But this is just one way to avoid hair loss. What are the others?

Take care of your diet

What does your diet have to do with hair loss? Well, everything. If we want to have healthy and strong hair, it is essential that we take in a lot of vitamins and protein. Specifically, fruits such as kiwis or oranges, or vegetables like spinach and peas, are key to maintaining healthy hair. And so is fish, which provides magnesium, and eggs, thanks to their large amounts of vitamin B12.

Try to limit stress

Stress and anxiety are two of the most widespread diseases of the 21st century. One of their consequences is hair loss. To relax, there are healthy alternatives such as yoga, running, Pilates, or a simple massage. Just try anything to release some tension.

Vitamin complexes

Vitamin complexes are common to prevent hair loss. However, these supplements are not a panacea, nor a solution, but rather a complement to the care we mentioned before. Moreover, you shouldn't take them without asking your doctor first.

Myths and legends: dyeing your hair

There are some legends about hair that should be clarified. For example, it's not entirely true that dyes make your hair fall out. Today's colouring products are so advanced that they don't hurt and even improve the health of the scalp. Of course, there are also dyes of lower quality that do damage the hair.

Another myth involves caps and hats. No, they do not cause hair loss. However, it is advisable to keep them washed and clean.

The hairdryer

The dry heat emanating from a hairdryer causes hair proteins to weaken. Using it regularly can lead to significant hair loss. Therefore, if you have a choice, try and let your hair dry on its won. If you have no choice, use the dryer on low heat and keep it as far away from your hair as possible.

The magic of aloe vera

Aloe vera has so many properties that people even call it magical. While that's not the case, it comes close. For example, if we smear the hair with the inner substance of aloe vera, then let it dry and remove it with water, the hair will fall out much less and shine like never before.

Green tea (but not as a drink)

Green tea has a tremendous number of antioxidants that don't just slow down the fall of the hair but also strengthen it. You can poor the green tea into your hair while showering and repeat the process every fifteen days.

Essential oils

Thanks to the nutrients of the almond, its oil is perfect for stimulating hair growth. To use almond oil properly, just take two drops and massage them gently onto the scalp.

Cabbage and hair loss

The different types of cabbage can be used to make a mask that prevents hair loss. Let the cabbage soak for two hours, pass it through the blender and give your hair a bath with the resulting cream. Afterwards, remove the cream with plenty of warm water.

Lentils

As everyone knows, lentils contain a tremendous amount of iron. If we combine them with vitamin C, they will boost circulation and oxygenate the cells, which favors the healthy development of the hair follicle.

Egg white

If you notice more abundant hair loss in the past days, beat four egg whites and apply them to the scalp, massaging in a circular motion. Let it rest for half an hour and then remove it with warm water. The albumin of the egg white strengthens the hair follicles.

The side effects of postpartum

Hormonal changes in women, for whatever reason, may lead to hair loss. Most problems occur in the postpartum months. Once the baby has passed its first trimester, the mother's hair can begin to fall out. If that happens, see your doctor.

Nettle is good for your hair (...seriously!)

Nettle has contain properties that prevent hair loss and enhance its defenses. It is recommended to gently massage a mask of nettle onto the scalp just before sleeping.
You can make the mask by boiling nettle leaves and apple vinegar in water for ten minutes, then leave it to infuse for thirty minutes and sieve out the solids.

Hair massage

If you can afford it, a professional hair massage will not only help you relax but also fight alopecia - an illness that causes your hair to fall out. The massage increases blood flow and helps strengthen the roots. The best way to get a massage is with oil of coconut, olive, or almond.

Onions are good for you

Onions are traditionally recommended for wounds and skin problems, and they can also help stop hair loss. The sulfur in onions helps improve blood circulation to the hair follicles.

Anemia and its consequences

If your iron levels are below the recommended values, you may have anemia. One of its symptoms is hair loss. In this case, obviously, a specialist will have to guide you.

Colourful beetroot

It is impossible not to stain with beets, and yet it is worth it to give them a shot against hair loss. Simply cut a beet in half and rub the scalp. Leave it on for thirty minutes and then remove it with warm water. And don't worry, the dye comes out easily!

 

Garlic and water (or just garlic)

Rub garlic on your scalp? Yes, it works - and not just against vampires! Garlic, either raw or mixed with water, will help you to stop hair loss. The strong smell is something you'd have to take for granted though.

Extra virgin olive oil

The nutritional power of olive oil makes that people call it liquid gold, and it's a great ally against hair loss. Olive oil will also leave your hair shiny, soft, and silky. Just take a few drops of oil and massage your entire head for fifteen minutes. If you repeat this massage every other day, you'll see a significant improvement.
