A wild designer

The king of patterns, bold colour and animal print always shunned convention and sought out the wilder side of fashion, with designs made for those who embraced excess. He sadly lost his life in 2024 and the world lost a fashion legend.

The King of animal print

The fashion world went into mourning. Roberto Cavalli passed away in his native city of Florence at the age of 83, as confirmed by his family and his team on social media.

Official statement

The Italian designer died after a long illness, as reported by the Italian media. He passed, leaving behind his partner, the Swedish model Sandra Nilsson, mother of his sixth child, who is barely a year old.

Fine art and design

Orphaned by his father at the age of three, Roberto Cavalli studied Fine Arts, a career he would eventually combine with his work as a designer, applying paint to fabrics.

Eighties hiatus

Interestingly, in the 80s, when his particular style could have ruled the world, he took a break from the catwalks and did not return until 1994. But he came back in a big way.

Dressing divas

Divas such as Beyoncé, Spice Girls and Jennifer Lopez have worn Roberto Cavalli's daring and unique designs.

Multi-million dollar inheritance

Obviously, the designer has been accumulating a multimillion money pot that, at some point, will have to be distributed. But among whom?

Six children and a widow

In principle, Sandra Nilsson, his partner since 2010, will play a major role in the inheritance, along with her son Giorgio. However, the big fashion money cake will also get divided between the designer's five other children.

600 million in assets

There are also: Tomasso and Cristina (whose mother is Silvanella Giannoni), and Robert, Rachele and Daniele, (from his second marriage to Eva Düringer). These too will share Roberto Cavalli's possessions, valued by Forbes at 600 million dollars.

His own island

Among the pool of assets, we have Stora Rullingen, the island that the designer bought in 2015 for two million dollars and he visited to enjoy his great passion: nature.

A majestic yacht

Added to this is the mansion in Florence and a tremendous 27-metre long yacht with Cavalli's own stamp - leopard print - as he has shown on numerous occasions on social networks.

Rest in peace

But the most important thing is to pay homage to a fashion genius. Roberto Cavalli's work was eternal. May he rest in peace.
