Star Wars releases in 2023

We had the fantastic 'Obi-Wan Kenobi' and 'Andor' in 2022 but what does 2023 hold for 'Star Wars' fans across the world? We take a look at the upcoming Films, TV, and news surrounding the wonderful world of Star Wars. And we can tell you, it's exciting stuff.

The Bad Batch (season 2)

'The Bad Batch' season 2 gives us a deeper look at the galactic transition away from the days of the Republic and into the era of the Empire. This next installment blasts off in January.

The Bad Batch (season 2)

For those who have not yet seen the first season, The Bad Batch is an animated series that really gives more insight into the Star Wars franchise and moves the story along. Palpatine takes formal control of the galaxy as the Bad Batch are forced to run.

Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi

'Tales of the Jedi' will consist of six episodes with independent stories featuring characters such as Ahsoka Tano, Count Dooku and Qui-Gon Jinn in his teenage years.

Directed by Nathaniel Villanueva, the animated series will premiere on October 26 on Disney+.

The Mandalorian: Season 3

The success of 'The Mandalorian' is undeniable. After two magnificent seasons, a third one will be released in February 2023. Chilean actor Pedro Pascal will return to play bounty hunter Din Djarin and it has already been announced that one of the newcomers will be the great Christopher Lloyd (Doc Brown in 'Back to the Future’).

The Mandalorian: Season 3

Grogu chose to be with his adopted father (The Mandalorian) at the end of 'The Book of Boba Fett'. We can’t wait to see what adventures these two brilliant characters get up to.

Star Wars: Ahsoka

Also scheduled for 2023, 'Ashoka' will be a new 'Star Wars' Universe original series set within the timeline of 'The Mandalorian' and will star Rosario Dawson, Hayden Christensen, and Ivana Sakhno, under the direction of Dave Filoni.

Star Wars: Ahsoka

Rosario Dawson's role as the live-action version of Ahsoka in 'The Mandalorian' proved so popular, she will return with her own show. Fans of 'Star Wars' animated show 'Rebels' rejoice.

Star Wars: The Acolyte

'The Acolyte' will be a series with a total of eight episodes and will also premiere in 2023. In this case, we are taken back to the golden age of the Jedi and the Republic, at the time when the crisis of the Jedi Order takes place and there is the return of the Sith with Darth Sidious scheming in the shadows. The title character will be played by Amandla Stenberg.

Star Wars: The Acolyte

'The Acolyte' is the first real Sith-fronted entry from 'Star Wars'. Featuring a plan by the Sith to infiltrate the Jedi at the end of the High Republic era, this 'Star Wars' thriller will likely show the rise of the Dark Side of the Force.

Star Wars: Skeleton Crew

The story is centred on a group of children lost in the galaxy trying to find their way home in the era of the New Republic.

Star Wars: Skeleton Crew

Created and directed by Jon Watts, 'Skeleton Crew' will also see actor Jude Law as the main character. Its premiere? Also in 2023, however with no date yet announced.

Star Wars: Lando

Still without a release date, although there is a chance it could arrive in 2023, is 'Lando'. The film will focus on the story of Lando Calrissian, who was once portrayed by actor Billy Dee Williams.

Star Wars: Lando

We have seen this scoundrel of a villain turn hero in 'The Empire Strikes Back' and truth be told we need more 'Lando'. Donald Glover returns as Lando after appearing in 'Solo: A Star Wars Story' (2018).

Star Wars: A Droid Story

Likewise, no date is known yet for the last known 'Star Wars' proposal to date, 'A Droid Stroy'. In this case it is another animated film that will star the most famous androids of the saga: C-3PO and R2-D2.

Rogue Squadron

The upcoming Star Wars movie, 'Star Wars: Rogue Squadron' will be directed by Patty Jenkins (Wonder Woman), who described her desire to turn it into the “greatest fighter pilot movie of all time.” We are unsure of the release date because it keeps being moved.
