Many media outlets report William and Harry don't really get on. Ever since his exit from the Royal Family (and potentially before) things haven't been quite the same. But what do reports say are the catalysts?

William is 'furious' at Harry

The Mirror reported: Prince William is 'furious with Harry'. What is the reason for the rift between the brothers?

A trip to Nigeria that did not go down well

The cause of William's anger, according to the Daily Mirror, is Meghan and Harry's trip to Nigeria this May. They were given what was very much like a royal welcome when, in principle, they renounced their relationship with the British Royal Family.

'Unofficial Royal Tour'

The images of Harry and Megan in Nigeria suggest a role of royalty that they had originally walked away from. There is talk of the trip being like an ‘unofficial royal tour’ and they were received by high-ranking authorities, almost with the honours of a president.

What were Megan and Harry doing in Nigeria?

Meghan and Harry's visit to Nigeria was related to their work with the Invictus Games Foundation, a charity that promotes international sports championships with military veterans.

They took gifts home with them

The tabloids are particularly critical of Meghan and Harry (at pretty much all times) but this trip gave them the opportunity to scathe the couple even further: they accuse them of taking home a lot of gifts received in Nigeria.

Gifts, accepted

The Sun noted how Meghan and Harry, now outside the rules and protocols of British royalty, accepted 'more than 20 gifts'. The British Royal Family prohibits its members from receiving gifts.

Action from London to prevent a repetition of such a thing?

The Daily Mirror, quoting a Royal Household expert, claims that Prince William was willing to take steps to ensure that a trip along the lines of the one made by Meghan and Harry is not repeated again.

Not in that way

It's not about banning them from travelling, of course, that's impossible. Perhaps it will be officially communicated that Meghan and Harry cannot receive certain honours on their international visits.

Long history of misunderstandings

Ever since Meghan and Harry chose exile from the British Royal family, and escaped to private California, there have been a series of family misunderstandings.

They are doing it their way

After accusations of racism and displays of family intimacy by Meghan and Harry, the feeling is that the couple are going it alone, not caring at all about how their actions affect the British royal family.

William's loneliness

And all this at a time when a heavy responsibility rests on William's shoulders. His father, King Charles, is ill with cancer. So is his wife Kate. William finds himself alone with the reins of the crown, aside from his step-mother Camilla, of course.

Harry opted for a different life

Harry has clearly opted for a different kind of life, but perhaps he is not aware that his actions still have an influence on the image of the British royal family.

Furthering their own businesses

Harry and Meghan have had a number of ventures from Podcasts to books; TV shows to their involvement with many charitable organisations, most recognisably Harry's Invictus Games. This year, Meghan started her own lifestyle brand and we can expect to see Harry on the small screen, delving into the privileged life of the sport, polo.
