Gianluca Vacchi, dancing millionaire and Instagram king: where is he now?

He's Italian, incredibly rich and a handsome gray 50-plusser. An extravagant character of age 54 (a birthday he marked on August 5) with nothing else to do but to dress fabulously and take pictures of himself, he entertains 20.3 million followers on Instagram.

Vacchi (August 5, 1967) posted a video of himself without a shirt, dancing to the Ricky Martin song 'La Mordidita.' That small leisurely act, alongside his then-girlfriend, model Giorgia Gabriele, was enough to cause a social media sensation in 2016.

The video of Vacchi and Gabriele went viral around the world. Millions of people watched the tattooed millionaire show off his moves and style, and soon enough he had just as many followers on Instagram.

But what's so captivating about this guy, and what has he been doing since that crazy summer, five years ago?

Well, he certainly hasn't been doing any hard work. Gianluca told Business Insider in 2017 that he had basically retired at age 45. And that's probably what people find so interesting about the Italian businessman: he is as wealthy as they all would like to be.

Gianluca's story conquered many because he's a successful businessman with loads of money. Among other things, Vacchi is the president of the SEA (Societá Europea Autocaravan), one of the most important trailer and camper production companies in the world.

By the time he graduated college, Gianluca's family already had some wealth and a few companies. He began doing business at age 25 until he had more amassed money than he could count.

"At 45 I realised that the world didn't have anything to give me anymore," he told Business insider. "I'm not interested in accumulating money at all any more, I'm only interested in what's moving my curiosity."

The Italian millionaire started to follow his "curiosities" and seduced his followers with an extravagant lifestyle full of luxury, parties, fashion, and women.

Journalists have noted, among others, his "impressive pyjama collection" (Business Insider).

Gianluca sees himself as a "global entertainer and celebrity," Business Insider reports. He even published his autobiography, 'Enjoy,' in which he tells about what he calls "GV Lifestyle," a style in which fun and positive thinking predominate.

"I think I opened the door to the idea that there's one life and that you have to enjoy it, while always respecting," the Italian told GQ.

The silver influencer has conquered millions with his crazy videos. Apart from dancing to the hits of the moment with beautiful women, he's also seen "diving" in an airport, "skiing" in his garden, and in any other mad activity that he can think of.

And it is that for him the most important thing, apart from business, is fashion, exercise and music. "People see that I am very fit, so they realize that they can choose to have another life, make age just a number," said the billionaire.

"Vacchi trains for over an hour each day, no matter where he is in the world, and often shares his workouts with his followers," Business Insider reports. You can tell from his impressive physique - which he loves to show off to the fullest when he is on the beach or on his yacht.

In fact, a few years ago, Gianluca Vacchi showed one of his secrets to staying in shape: a self-designed, futuristic bicycle that launched on the market as well. It's called the #EnjoyBike.

It is a stationary bike that combines aerobic exercise with infrared rays that make you sweat more. You're also covered with a plastic bag which helps you tone your body, Vacchi explained to his followers.

As for fashion, Gianluca likes to stand out. While you may see him sometimes in an elegant suit, he likes to experiment with extravagant accessories and hats as well.

Vacchi never hesitates to show off his incredible wealth. He poses a lot with his fancy cars and private jets. "I’m not scared of showing myself on a jet — if I do it's because I deserve to do it," he told Business Insider.

"I never stay more than one week in the same place," he told the outlet. "For me being one week in the same place is already something strange. In the past it was different but now I'm constantly travelling."

Of course, he moves around in one of his opulent cars of the most exclusive manufacturers.

Since he became a social media hit through the art of dance, the Italian has dedicated himself to music. He used his fame to become a DJ and play in various parts of the world.

One of his home bases, Miami, has a good DJ scene, Vacchi told Business Insider. In 2017 he released his first single, 'Viento'. The Italian influencer prefers Latin-style dance music, not the techno that has conquered the world through other DJs. "I don't want [to play] very flat boom boom boom music, I prefer strong drops."

In 2018, DJ Gianluca Vacchi successfully collaborated with Luis Fonsi and Yandel on the song 'Let's Dance', which got more than 52 million views on YouTube.

In February of 2018, at the height of the Trump era in the U.S., Gianluca brought out a music video called 'Trump-It'. GQ got curious and set out to find what it meant. Did he support the president or not? "No," the journalist concluded. "The entirety of the lyrics – and I’m not making this up – are 'Let's go! / Let's go! / Let's go! / Let's go! / Let's go!'" Typical Gianluca-style, really.

In 2019, the singer Becky G worked with Gianluca and the urban performers Nacho and MC Fioti on the song 'Mueve'. Next, in 2020, he brought out the track 'Para.' As you can see, he has stuck with the Latino style that got him millions of followers in 2016.

Although he's past 50, Gianluca Vacchi has continued to get ample attention of women. His preference, as in music, is for Latin American women.

Gianluca is currently in a relationship with the Venezuelan model Sharon Fonseca. She's 18 years younger than the Italian playboy.

According to the Daily Mail, the influencer has plans to marry Fonseca and have several children with her. “I decided to speak Spanish with her and stop using English. I learn languages fast, I'm used to it,” the Italian businessman told GQ.

In the summer of 2020, Gianluca Vacchi bought a 24.5 million dollar Miami mansion. It's a seven-bedroom, 12,700-square-foot house overlooking the water, Inman reported. "The property also comes with 7,400 square feet of outdoor space as well as a roof terrace with 360-degree views." As he bought this new home, Vacchi had another on the market in Miami Beach for a 'modest' $10.9 million.

Sharon and Gianluca divide their time between their several homes in Italy and Florida. The silver influencer told Business Insider: "All of my houses are different, depending on where they're located." In Milan, for example, the playboy has a "red passion suite."

In October 2020, the silver influencer became a father for the first time! His and Sharon Fonseca's child is called Blu Jerusalema.

In early 2021, the influencer's little girl had to undergo an operation of the cleft palate. It was a small hick-up for the family and their paradisiacal lifestyle, but it's something no parent wants for his or her child.

In one of the more serious interviews of his career, Gianluca Vacchi told Hola USA that the diagnosis was a "strong blow for both of us... When they told me, my head, my soul and my heart immediately went with Blu, but also with all the children who can have the same condition and who are not lucky enough of having resources like us."

Despite a few criticisms of his display of wealth amidst the coronavirus pandemic and its lockdowns, including a special trip to get vaccinated before others his age thanks to the show of dollar bills, Gianluca continues to be a popular guy.

Of course, the multimillionaire is not exempt from controversy. A few years ago he was criticized for allegedly denigrating women after he had used the buttocks of some girls as a "drum" in one of his videos. Critics called him misogynistic and a macho

Gianluca himself responded in a creative way to his “haters.” He made another video in which he dressed himself as a woman and let a group of young women in men's clothes hit him on the buttocks.

“In life we can be and do what we want. Just enjoy life and smile," was his carefree (and perhaps careless?) message next to the controversial video.

Of course, with so many years on social media, he doesn't worry about being called ridiculous, as he is convinced of how he wants to live his life and he has the money to actually live it that way.

“When you decide that you want to be on social media, you have to bear in mind that there are people who love you… and people who love you less..." he said.

"...For me it is not a problem, I always looked at people who criticized me as a stimulus. Many times I answer, always politely, but it is part of the game, it is part of my life," the businessman told GQ. He's never been deterred from posting new updates about his spectacular life.

He told GQ about what he thinks is his secret to being so popular. “I think people are seeing through me the possibility of living a life a little different from the traditional…"

“… People find on my Instagram: an inspiration and a different way of living life, because life is a loan. There is a time we have to repay it, but what we do not know is the date. Enjoying life is a way of respecting it," he said.
