Members of CiON

The members of CiON are Shion, Aika, Yoshiko, Seina, and Ami.

Had performed under a different name

8days reports that CiON have previously performed for eight years under the name ‘C;ON’, and changed the group name due to it being difficult to search for on X.

Detained by police, cancelled activities

However, CiON’s second debut has been cancelled, along with all scheduled activities since their detention by the police on 23 October. According to Sports Hochi, a total of 10 people. Including the members of CiON, have been detained.

Illegal performance in May

Sponichi Annex reports that the 10 people, which comprise the members of CiON and staff members of the girl group’s agency, Toil & Moyle, have been arrested in part for organising an unauthorised street performance back in May.

Usually no arrests made

The same article from Sponichi Annex states that typically, offenders are rarely arrested for performing on the street. However, the scale of obstruction was deemed so big that it warranted an arrest of those involved.

Cancellation of all activities

The arrest had resulted in an entire shift of events for CiON, as their official website declared that all promotional events scheduled until December of this year were canceled, as well as their music release by their label, Avex.
