Piper Perabo

She triumphed in 'Coyote Ugly' but that was it. Piper Perabo then tried to be in every type of movie possible, but she just didn't manage to be successful again. Her closest attempt was with 'Covert Affairs,' a series where she was the protagonist for four years, but it never really went anywhere.

Rupert Grint

Everyone agreed that Rupert Grint was the most talented of the three protagonists when Harry Potter ended. But he was also the laziest.  Considering he was a millionaire at the age of 20, he took his career to a more relaxing place. Whatever else he does, he has had eight successful movies, and even though they were part of a single series, it's still a lot.

Stacey Dash

Dionne Davenport will always be in our hearts, but Stacey Dash.... As if! In 1995 she triumphed in 'Clueless' with Alicia Silverstone.  It's been 25 years and she has never stopped working in film and television. Fox News viewers may know her as a political commentator and even (briefly) a candidate for Congress. But does anyone remember any of her film titles?

Macaulay Culkin

He was, still is, and always will be the boy from 'Home Alone.' But since the famous Kevin McCallister, 29 years have passed and Macaulay Culkin hasn't had another hit. But still, considering what he's been through in the movie, he's done enough to stay alive.

See how 40-year-old Macaulay Culkin is doing now!

Taylor Lautner

The 'Twilight' Saga elevated him to the altars of fame just to give him a taste of reality afterwards. Jacob Black was his most successful role and it doesn't look like he's going to match that or get anything better. In fact, ever since the saga ended in 2012, he's only been in four movies. He stars in 'Cuckoo,' an interesting comedy.  It's better than nothing.

Nia Vardalos

Nia Vardalos has more than a dozen movies in her filmography. You see her face here and there. But can anyone, off the cuff, name any other title than 'My Big Fat Greek Wedding'? Well, exactly.

(In the picture: with her on-screen husband, John Corbett)

Jason Biggs

Another typecasted actor who hasn't been able to redeem himself.  He'll be known as Jim Levenstein forever, unless they're calling him something worse. It seemed like he was coming back in 'Orange is the New Black,' but Netflix decided to let him go.

Haley Joel Osment

The boy from 'The Sixth Sense' grew up, and with puberty came oblivion. He no longer had his baby face and production companies stopped calling him. Two decades have gone by and the best of Haley Joel Osment is still the boy from 'The Sixth Sense.'

Alicia Silverstone

She was 19 when she played Cher Horowitz in 'Clueless' (1995). She killed it. She was the brightest star in Hollywood but her fame ended quickly. The worst thing for her is that, in the past decades, she has not stopped working, but none of her films have had the resounding success of 'Clueless'.

See why Alicia Silverstone is far from retired!

Alex Winter

There are two actors in this photo but you only know the name of one. He was Bill in 'Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure' (1989) but it was Keanu Reeves who triumphed. Alex Winters' filmography is impressively extensive but mediocre.

Brandon Routh

Superman's role is complicated, and you should take it up with Brandon Ruth if you don't agree. His most recognizeable role only lasted one film in 'Superman Returns' (2006). They said he was too soft to be the man of steel. He now triumphs in 'DC Legends of Tomorrow,' but with a weak cast.

Adrien Brody

He won an Oscar in 2002 for 'The Pianist' and then he experienced failure after failure. He couldn't even keep up his love story with Elsa Pataky. He's still very active but each title is smaller than the one before. His Oscar, however, will never be taken away.

Danny Lloyd

Danny Lloyd was Danny Torrance in 'The Shining' (1981). And that's it. He appeared in two forgettable TV movies the following year and then he quit acting. It's not that he only had one hit, but he only did one movie and it was historic. Not a bad result.

Gabourey Sidibe

Her first role, in the film 'Precious,' won her an Oscar in 2009. Things have gone downhill from there. But that's what logically happens when you start so high. Not even Ryan Murphy has given her another chance.

Gina Gershon

Gina Gershon has been, still is, and always will be Hollywood's high school babe. In 'Showgirls,' her high school role as Cristal Connors made history. She continued to work but never had a role at  the level of her illustrious high school self.

Hayden Christensen

Is it possible to be both Anakin Skywalker and Darth Vader in 'Star Wars' and not succeed beyond the Lucas film saga? Hayden Christensen proved it possible. He made all of the wrong decisions after finishing 'Star Wars.'

Henry Thomas

The boy from ET became the child of the planet in 1982. From Spielberg's hand, he touched the sky with his forefinger, but the fall from that point was hard. He participated in movies like 'Legends of the Fall' and 'Gangs of New York,' but they were always supporting roles and far from what he promised.

Jon Heder

'Napoleon Dynamite' was an independent relevation in 2004. John Heder had everything at his disposal to overcome Michael Cera as the 21st-century nerd, but he proceeded downhill choosing one mediocre title after another.

Eddie Kaye Thomas

Paul Finch got famous from his affair with Stifler's mom. He's one of the few that hasn't stopped working since 'American Pie' but Hollywood hasn't been very generous with him. They kind of saved him with 'Scorpion' where he's been a regular for four seasons, but it's just not the same without Stifler's mom.

Jonathan Bennett

A secondary role was never this important. Jonathan Bennett was the crush of Cady Heron, or Lindsay Lohan, in 'Mean Girls'. In 2004 and 2005 he basically lived on the red carpet, but in 2006 he disappeared into a black alley of Hollywood. Farewell, Jonathan.

Shannon Elizabeth

She was Nadia, the exchange student in 'American Pie,' and for a moment she was the most desirable girl in the world. But everything she aimed for turned into "what could've been" and it never actually happened. She appeared in 'Love Actually' but was nowhere near as good as she was in 'American Pie.'

Ralph Macchio

Ralph Macchio was the headliner of Generation X when it came to new talent in the 80s. Karate Kid Daniel Larusso is part of Hollywood's history, but Macchio let too much time pass between roles and became irrelevant. Thanks to Daniel Larusso, however, the actor has recently returned to the spotlights.

Michael Dudikoff

He was the American answer to the martial arts boom. His 'American Warrior' is a cult movie. In fact, it has three sequels. Still, Joe Armstrong has mostly remained this handsome guy from the 80s.

Mark Hamill

It's true that Mark Hamill is a legend in the film industry, but everything he's done is connected with Luke Skywalker in 'Star Wars'. His luck comes from the saga having nine movies and him being in almost all of them. He did make a career as a voice actor for films and videogames, though.

Patrick Fugit

He was the protagonist in the surprising film 'Almost Famous.' For the 18-year-old it was his first role and Hollywood loved him. It wasn't the right type of love, though. The Mecca of Cinema hasn't given him a similar role since. In his thirties, he's still acting but not a lot of people seem to remember who he is.

Mira Sorvino

Her unexpected Oscar for Best Supporting Actress in 'Mighty Aphrodite' catapulted her as a rising star in Hollywood. It has been difficult to follow up on that. Her roles have been irrelevant ever since, and she hasn't come close to winning another Oscar.

And how about Meg Ryan? Whatever happened to this Hollywood darling?
