The infamous Kim Kardashian video is back

Talking about Kim Kardashian means we are talking about, perhaps, the most famous celebrity in the world. Or at least, that's what she believes.

Influencer, company owner, reality TV star, mother of four, divorced a couple of times… And she even dared to wear the iconic Marylin Monroe dress (pictured above). In the life of Kim Kardashian, days don’t have enough hours and bank accounts have too many zeros.

But younger generations may not know where it all began for Kim K. In 2002, a very hot homemade video, in which we could see Kim and her then boyfriend Ray J being very passionate with each other, 'leaked'.

Two decades after it was filmed and 15 years after it was 'leaked', the video is news again. In the image, we see Kim and the singer Ray J in 2006.

In an episode of their new Hulu/Disney+ show called 'The Kardashians,' a continuation of the well-known reality show 'Keeping up with the Kardashians,' Saint, one of Kim's children, found a reference to the infamous video, which really upset the reality star.

When Kim called her ex-husband and Saint's father, Kanye West, to tell him about what had happened, the rapper contacted Ray J and bought him the hard drive with all the explicit images of the couple taken 20 years ago.

This is where everything gets messy. Ray J states that the reality show has portrayed him like the bad guy, even though, according to what he has shared to different media outlets, he has never leaked any of those images and videos in 20 years.

In fact, in a very juicy interview with 'The Daily mail', Ray J claims that the 'leak' was set up by Kim Kardashian, her mother Kris Jenner, and himself.

The rapper told 'The Daily Mail' that only Kim had the tapes. However, he admits that he was the one playing around with the idea of releasing the video: "She jumped on the idea, spoke to her mom, and from there, it was out of my hands."

Faking it or not, the couple and Kris Jenner were aware of Paris Hilton's growth in popularity when a similar video of her and her boyfriend, Rick Salomon, was released in 2004.

Kim K and Ray J's tape was filmed in Cabo San Lucas in 2002 during the birthday celebrations of the reality TV star. The couple would end their relationship in 2003 and the tape was leaked in 2007. It would then become one of the most lucrative and searched adult videos in history.

According to those who think it was staged, Kris Jenner was the person who contacted Vivid Entertainment to publish the video. Then, it was portrayed as an unfortunate 'leak' to everyone.

Almost 15 years later, it's clear who of the two love birds has been able to get the most profit and fame out of the video. And, although Ray J had moved on, he is not willing to let the Kardashians present him as the villain of the story.

"I've sat in the shadows for over 14 years, allowing the Kardashians to use my name, to abuse my name, make billions of dollars over a decade and a half, talking about a topic I've never really spoken about."

Besides how things have gone for Ray J in terms of money and fame, Kim Kardashian's success is beyond compare. In fact, Ray claims that the tape has only brought him misery.

As he opens up to 'The Daily Mail': "I felt su***dal because you know something's real and it's true, and you're watching a whole family build an empire from a lie they've created."

But how has it really affected him? "I couldn't be a part of any reputable major network television show and do 'Dancing with the Stars' and do 'America's Got Talent' or anything like that because of my image," the rapper complains. Unlike Kim Kardashian and her family, who had their own reality TV show for more than 15 years, Ray felt like an outlaw in showbiz.

He's hurt because the Kardashians have made him seem like the villain who leaked the tape. "Where in this whole story did Ray J become the person who leaked the tape and who's made their lives miserable?"

After 20 years of silence, Ray J is ready to speak his truth and explain his version of the events: "I'm going to tell what we really did. You’ve left me no choice," he threatened the Kardashians in 'The Daily Mail.'

As it was published in 'The Daily Mail,' Ray J insisted to the family in direct messages: "Unless you reach out to me soon, I'm gonna take it to the next level, where I show all of what we did." He continued: "This is not a threat, but you've taken it too far."

Money? Fame? Recognition? It seems like he has an economic motivation but he's also demanding that Kim Kardashian help his family.

As also seen in the direct messages displayed in 'The Daily Mail,' Ray J asked the Kardashians to help him with his reputation: "Please help me stay in a positive light. I want my kids to be proud of me. They are 3 and 2 years old. They are innocent. Please don’t make their dad look like a loser…"

They say the past always comes back and that Kim Kardashian and Ray J's history was too public to not resurface. For now, we'll see how the celebrities deal with it after 20 years and 6 children between them, as well as the maturity and experience they gained with time.
