20 years together, 16 years married: Jessica Alba and Cash Warren split

After 16 years of marriage, Jessica Alba and Cash Warren have separated, causing a great stir in the entertainment world. They were one of the strongest couples in Hollywood.

The 43-year-old actress confirmed her separation through a statement she posted on her Instagram account.

"I've been on a journey of self-realization and transformation for years - both as an individual and in partnership with Cash…" she wrote

"… I'm proud of how we've grown in our marriage over the last 20 years, and it's now time for us to embark on a new chapter of growth and evolution as individuals," she continued in her Instagram message.

Alba and Warren married in 2008, four years after meeting on the set of 'Fantastic Four' (2005), where he was assistant to director Tim Story and she played the seductive Sue Storm.

In her statement, the actress stressed that she and her ex-partner are on very good terms and will continue to be a family for their three children: Honor, 16; Haven, 13, and Hayes, 6.

"We are moving forward with love, kindness and respect for each other and will forever be family. Our children remain our highest priority and we request privacy at this time," the actress said.

Alba's statement came after the TMZ website reported that the couple had already separated and were in the process of getting a divorce.

It also caught attention that, on January 5, Alba arrived alone at the Golden Globes ceremony and was not wearing her wedding ring. This is usually a sign that something is not right in a marriage.

A source told US Weekly that Alba and Warren had faced several marital crises. Although they had gone to therapy, they were unable to save their relationship.

"There were trust issues in the past which led to many arguments," the source said. "At the end of the day, the romance was gone between them."

In April 2024, the actress spoke a little about her marriage on the podcast 'BDA Baby,' hosted by Katherine Schwarzenegger.

"I would say it's all rosy for two-and-a-half years. But then after that, you become roommates…"

"…You're just going through the motions, the responsibilities. It's a lot of like checking the boxes," she admitted.

Even though they tried to reconnect, in the end, it didn't work out the way they wanted. Bit by bit, the couple was heading towards a separation.

"We used to do every Wednesday..." she explained on the podcast, "we're going to do date night or every week we're gonna set aside a time... We won't have our phones and we'll just, like, talk..."

"But then that stopped because whatever, and so we're just not consistent," she said on the podcast.
Jessica Alba will now move on as a single mother, combining co-parenting with a successful business.
