Whatever the truth is, and whoever wins the infamous trial, it is clear that, at the very least, Johnny Depp and Amber Heard had a rocky relationship. Depp wasn't Heard's first lover though, and he wouldn't be her last. Let's have a look at the actress's relationships over time.

Photographer and painter Tasya van Ree, from Hawaii, dated Heard back in 2008. Same sex marriage was illegal in the US at the time, but their relationship was indeed very serious.

According to The Mirror, Amber even went by the name Amber van Ree. Heard came out as bisexual and enjoyed a strong relationship, with an insider saying that "Tasya has always been a rock for the actress. They’ve been through a lot together," as the Mirror reports.

A year after their relationship went public and they had been in a domestic relationship for three years, same-sex marriage became constitutional in New York. The Mirror reports that the couple reportedly threw a big party to celebrate the occasion.

However, before they celebrated the same-sex marriage bill, Amber Heard was arrested in 2009 for physically assaulting van Ree at an airport in Washington. Charges were dropped with van Ree saying Heard was ‘wrongfully’ accused by the police, according to USA Today. They split in 2012 and Amber went back to being Amber Heard.

The actress's next relationship is now one of the most talked about celebrity marriages ever. Amber Heard and Johnny Depp met on the set of ‘The Rum Diary’ in 2009. They started dating in 2012.

After dating for three years, they married 2015. People magazine reported on their wedding at the time, saying it was a small event with only 20 to 25 people in attendance.

What happened after the wedding, in 2015 and 2016, is the subject of debates in the court, the press, and social media. Depp and Heard accuse each other of being a domestic abuser.

After their divorce, Heard filed for a restraining order against him, citing physical abuse. Heard withdrew her request for the restraining order after the pair reach a ‘settlement’ outside court. Depp paid Heard $7 million.

As the BBC reports, the couple released a joint statement right after the divorce. "Our relationship was intensely passionate and at times volatile, but always bound by love," it read. "Neither party has made false accusations for financial gain. There was never any intent of physical or emotional harm."

And that was the end of Johnny Depp and Amber Heard. But along came Delevingne? British supermodel Cara Delevingne was reportedly in a relationship with the actress, although neither party ever confirmed the relationship.

The same year as Heard and Depp’s divorce, Heard and Delevingne were reported to have been in a ‘threesome’ with Elon Musk in Depp’s attic in LA. The Daily Mail reported that Josh Drew, the ex-husband of Heard’s best friend Raquel Pennington, dished the dirt.

Many are awaiting the documents from Josh Drew in the Depp-Heard trial, as he may confirm the relationship with Delevingne, according to Metro. Drew has also stated that Heard was having an affair with James Franco at the time Depp and Heard were still married.

Heard and Delevingne were seen together on numerous occasions. However, instead of taking their relationship to a more serious level, Heard appears to have moved on to Elon Musk, as Marca and PageSix report.

Tesla CEO and now Twitter majority shareholder, Elon Musk, dated Heard shortly after her divorce - or just before. He said, "I want to confirm again that Amber and I only started dating about a month after filing for divorce. I was never close to her during her marriage," according to The Mirror.

Multibillionaire Musk and Heard had met at the 2016 Met Gala - which was, by the way, just after she had the major fight with Depp resulting in their separation. They would have a relationship for about a year and split in 2018.

Psychologist Dr Dawn Hughes, who had 29 hours of private interviews with the actress and documented her intimate thoughts for the Depp-Heard trial, says that Heard never had feelings for Musk.

The psychologist’s notes reveal how Amber Heard felt in those months, after the divorce and while dating Elon Musk. According to Insider, Heard had told Hughes: "I was heartbroken. My soul was dead. Felt nothing then." Her 'rebound' relationship with Elon Musk, unsurprisingly, didn’t last.

Just a few months after her relationship ended with Musk, Amber Heard started dating Vito Schnabel - Heidi Klum’s ex.

Vito Schnabel is a man who grew up around art. When he openend a New York gallery in 2015, he established himself as a world-class art dealer. Schnabel is known as one of the biggest collectors of modern and contemporary masterpieces.

Heard and Schnabel went public after they were photographed together holding hands in New York. A month before, they had been spotted in the back of a car having a deep conversation, The Mirror explains.

Not much more is known about their relationship, aside from the fact is sizzled out about a year after it began. The reason? "Long distance" according to US Weekly.

Actress and cinematographer Bianca Butti, who had worked on the popular VH1 series 'Love & Hip-Hop: Atlanta,' started dating Heard in January 2020.

Butti accompanied Amber to Depp’s libel case against The Sun newspaper in 2020, and they were said to have a strong relationship. US Weekly cited a source who claimed that "Amber is fine and happier than ever. Bianca has been very supportive of her, and Amber feels like she can trust her and be comfortable around her, especially since they were friends first."

The Sun reported that on July 1, 2021, Amber welcomed a baby girl, Oonagh Paige Heard, via surrogate. Was it a baby with Butti?

Butti and Heard do not have children together and, according to her post on Instagram, Amber had decided she wanted a child before she had even started dating Butti. She said: "Four years ago, I decided I wanted to have a child. I wanted to do it on my own terms."
