Hong Kong star Pakho Chau and his voyeurs: spicy photos come to light

Hong Kong star Pakho Chau can't seem to shake the voyeurs, as he is once again the subject of voyeuristic photos taken of him in 2023. Who is he, and what led to him being photographed without clothes and without his consent, once again?

Pakho Chau is a Hong Kong singer-songwriter, and actor known for producing some of Cantopop’s biggest hits.

Pakho Chau, who was born on November 12, 1984 in Hong Kong, has had a lifelong interest in music. Did you know: He began playing the piano at the age of five!

Another amazing fact about Pakho Chau is that other than his talent in music, he is known for having represented Hong Kong nationally in basketball, and having once worked as a swimming instructor, lifeguard, model, and piano teacher prior to entering showbiz!

These jobs were clearly not where Pakho Chau felt he belonged, as he eventually decided to pursue his dreams in music professionally by first learning how to produce and record music professionally.

Pakho Chau had planned to study music professionally abroad but was persuaded to stay in Hong Kong by his then-manager at his modelling job. He was then introduced to Hong Kong recording legend Chan Kwong-Wing by his manager, and the rest is history.

Being under the tutelage of Chan Kwong-Wing was not easy for Pakho Chau, who had to put in two years of unpaid work in exchange for experience professionally recording and producing music in Chan Kwong-Wing's studio.

The hard work paid off when Chan Kwong-Wing recognized Pakho Chau's talent and tenacity in his work and offered him a recording contract with Warner Music in 2007, allowing him to finally begin producing and recording his own music!

Since signing up with Warner Music, Pakho Chau made hit after hit in the Cantopop scene. When he’s not releasing songs under his name, he's also involved in other ventures such as acting, photography, and TV hosting!

Pakho Chau is truly talented. Other than winning awards for his music, such as multiple awards for the RTHK Top 10 Gold Songs Awards.

Pakho Chau has also won acting awards for his work in acting, such as the TVB Most Popular Male Character award in 2019 for his role as Wing Ho-tin in ‘Wonder Women’!

Despite his enormous success, Pakho Chau had to take a year off in 2016. According to Apple Daily, the hiatus was crucial for him because it allowed him to focus more on his personal life, which included marrying his longtime girlfriend in November of that year.

Soon after, Pakho Chau returned to the showbiz scene in 2017, where he released multiple songs back to back over the course of four months, as well as a role in the Hong Kong film 'Forgive Him 77 Times,' starring A-lister Charlene Choi.

As we all know from infamous incidents such as 'sasaeng' stalkers that K-pop stars face on a daily basis, there is a risk to being a superstar. Pakho Chau was not spared either, as he was also a victim of a voyeur in his gym in 2018.

According to AsiaOne, Pakho Chau was photographed in the middle of changing his clothes in the gym by a teenage fan in 2018. After a rage-filled rant by Chau on Instagram, the teenager removed the photos and apologized to the star.

Despite his memorable and vehement stance against voyeuristic photography in 2018, stalking fans attempted to photograph Pakho Chau once again without clothes in 2023. A picture of the bare artist was taken while he was in a public shower, the Straits Times reports. In early June, it became clear that the photos were circulating on the internet.

According to the same report, the star will take legal action against the voyeur. While it is unclear whether the photos were doctored to make it appear as if Pakho Chau was completely exposed, they still tarnished his reputation as a celebrity.
