This Norwegian drama was initially released as a feature film at festivals in 2022. Now in a streaming series format, 'War Sailor' tells the story of Alfred, a sailor and family man who works in a merchant ship in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, just as World War II begins.

The Good Mothers - April 5 (Disney+)

This series won the 'Berlinale Series' award at the 73rd Berlin International Film Festival and is based on a true story. The narrative revolves around three women who, born into one of the most dangerous mafia clans in Italy, unite to end the Italian mafia 'Ndrangheta.'

Transatlantic - April 7 (Netflix)

This miniseries is set in Marseille, France. Inspired by the true story of Varian Fry, Mary Jayne Gold, and the Emergency Rescue Committee, it follows a group of young people who risk their lives helping refugees to escape from France during World War II. Among these refugees are artists and intellectuals who were wanted by the Nazis, such as Andre Breton, Hannah Arendt, and Marcel Duchamp.

Tiny Beautiful Things - April 7 (Hulu/ Disney+)

This series, which has a great team of executive producers (Kathryn Hahn, Reese Witherspoon, Laura Dern, among others), is based on the eponymous bestsellers by Cheryl Strayed. It tells the story of a writer, Clare (Kathryn Hahn), who, while going through many difficulties in her life, ends up becoming a respected advice columnist.

Chupa - April 7 (Netflix)

This fantasy film recounts the adventures of a teenager who, on a trip to Mexico to visit his family, discovers a 'Chupacabra' living in his grandfather's shed.

Thicker Than Water - April 7 (Netflix)

A Long Third Date - April 18 (Netflix)

The documentary is about Matt and Khani, a couple who met through a dating app and spontaneously decided to travel to Costa Rica for their third date. However, this happened in March 2020, when the whole world stopped due to the covid-19 pandemic. Unable to return home, Matt and Khani had to undergo a major compatibility test.

Sweet Tooth (S2) - April 27 (Netflix)

This original fantasy series, created by Jim Mickle, was based on the eponymous comic book by Jeff Lemire. It shows a post-apocalyptic universe where children began to be born half human and half animal, and it follows the adventures of Gus, a deer boy, in his attempts to escape a laboratory. He is trapped there after being captured by humans.

Love & Death - April 27 (HBO Max)

This series is an adaptation of the book 'Evidence of Love: A True Story of Passion and Death in the Suburbs,' a collection by Jim Atkinson and Joe Bob Briggs. With Elizabeth Olsen in the cast, it revolves around Candy Montgomery, a housewife who starts an extramarital relationship with the husband of one of her friends and neighbor, Betty Gore. Everything takes a dark turn when Betty turns up dead, murdered with an axe.

Peter Pan & Wendy - April 28 (Disney+)

This live-action remake of JM Barrie's novel and the 1983 animated classic tells the story of Wendy, a girl who meets Peter Pan, a boy who refuses to grow up. It features Jude Law, Alexander Molony, and Ever Anderson in the cast.
