Nicole Kidman and Sandra Bullock reunite after 26 years for 'Practical Magic'
Back in 1998, Warner Bros had the brilliant idea of bringing together two of the era’s top actresses: Nicole Kidman and Sandra Bullock.
They were joined by two of the 90s heartthrobs, Aidan Quinn and Goran Visnjic (pictured with Nicole Kidman), along with veteran actresses Dianne Wiest and Stockard Channing.
To top it off, the story was based on a novel by Alice Hoffman, where the two main characters were cursed: all their lovers died prematurely.
This wonderful mix of stars, drama, comedy, and fantasy was called 'Practical Magic,' and... it was a resounding box office failure! It cost $75 million and only grossed $68.1 million.
Despite everything, the story of the Owens sisters has aged like fine wine, and the generation of boomers who dismissed it in theaters began to love it on VHS and idealize the movie in their memories.
This nostalgia is enough for Warner Bros to want to revisit the story and make a sequel 26 years later, as Entertainment Weekly reports.
The same source notes that Nicole Kidman and Sandra Bullock, close friends, are already negotiating the sequel. Alice Hoffman has published more novels, which would help in writing the script and potentially expanding the saga.

As expected, both Nicole Kidman and Sandra Bullock would be involved in the project not only as actresses but also as producers.

Currently, there are no set dates for the start of filming or release. In fact, the busy schedules of both stars suggest that the project will take some time, but after 26 years, what’s a little more waiting?
Nicole Kidman is set to release 'Family Affair,' and has upcoming seasons of 'Big Little Lies' and 'Nine Perfect Strangers.' Meanwhile, Sandra Bullock is filming 'Vigilance.' So, it looks like it will be a while.
After all, bringing back a film that has left such a positive memory in the collective consciousness when no one expected it is, so to speak, practically magic.
