"It is with great sadness that we confirm the untimely passing of our friend, brother, and son Kenyi Flores. Please respect our privacy at this time as we are all shocked and devastated by this loss," the statement read.

Silence on the cause of death

Initially, the Flores family did not comment on the cause of death, and speculation about what happened, as usual, was rife on social media.

Cardiac arrest

Hours later, TMZ confirmed that the comedian had died of cardiac arrest, after speaking with the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner's Office.

He was at home

According to the aforementioned media, someone called 911 on Tuesday afternoon and they applied CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) until the paramedics arrived.

They couldn't save him

However, when paramedics arrived at Ken Flores' residence, they could do no more than certify his death and rule out any involvement by another person in his death.
