According to the medical examiner, the ketamine in Perry’s system caused cardiovascular overstimulation and respiratory depression. Other factors involved include drowning, coronary artery disease and buprenorphine, a medication used to treat opioid-use disorder.

Initially, his death was deemed accidental, but the coroner’s report revealed some suspiciously relevant details that couldn’t be ignored.

Collaboration with the DEA

The origin of ketamine he consumed has raised police suspicions. As a result, they are collaborating with the DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration) in this investigation.

Therapeutic ketamine

The Los Angeles Coroner’s Office said in December 2023 that the actor had been receiving ketamine infusions, a controlled substance permitted by the FDA, to treat his anxiety and depression, as reported by TMZ. But his last known infusion was more than a week before his death.

Suspiciously high quantity

However, the autopsy revealed that Matthew Perry had around the same amount of ketamine in his system as someone under general anesthesia. The drug leaves the body in three to four hours, so that level would not be from his supervised treatments...

TMZ later reported that the US Postal Service got involved in the investigation, looking into whether Perry got any of the drugs in the mail.

Who killed Matthew Perry?

Jasveen Sangha, 41, allegedly known as 'The Ketamine Queen', is accused of selling Perry the batch of ketamine that killed him.

The Doctors

Dr. Salvador Plasencia, 42, a fully licensed medical doctor is accused of distributing around 20 vials of ketamine to Perry. The other doctor charged is Dr. Mark Chavez.

Two others charged

The other 2 people charged are Perry's live-in assistant Kenneth Iwamasa, worked allegedly with Sangha and Chavez to get the ketamine to Perry. The other person is Eric Fleming, who admitted in court documents that he distributed the ketamine that killed Perry.
