Selena Gomez is engaged to music producer Benjamin Joseph Levin, better known as Benny Blanco. The news arrived in an Instagram post in early December.

The singer and actress shared the news via her Instagram account, where she posted several photos of herself with her engagement ring and her future husband. 'Eternity begins now', she declared.

While Gomez shared selfies with her new ring, Levin wanted to make their marriage official right away, referring to the singer as his wife in a comment on the post. "Hey wait... that's my wife," he wrote.

Congratulations for the actress have not been lacking. Everyone from Gwyneth Paltrow and Lily Collins to Cardi B have expressed their happiness for the singer.

"Yes, I will be the flower girl," wrote her good friend, Taylor Swift.

Producer Benny Blanco had already been questioned in recent months about the future he imagined with the singer. In an interview with Howard Stern, the host told him that he predicted the couple would marry, to which Blanco replied that he thought the same.

In that same interview, the producer declared he admired Gomez for everything she does. "We laugh all f****** day. She inspires me. I get home from work, I think I had a good day," he explains...

With a laugh, Benny concluded: "My day sounds like s*** every day compared to hers."

The couple has known each other since 2019 when Blanco, Tainy, and J Balvin collaborated with Gomez on the song 'I Can't Get Enough'. However, that was still a few years before they started dating.

In June 2023 the couple started dating and in December of that year, they confirmed their relationship to the public. Then, in January 2024, they made their debut as a couple during the Emmys ceremony.

There was a time when the singer imagined that she would be forever single. In an interview with Time magazine, Gomez revealed that she had been celibate for five years.

However, she claimed that she had learned to be okay with it over time. "A lot of people are afraid of being alone and I probably tortured myself in my head for like two years being alone," she said. "And then I kind of accepted it."

Gomez, who recently declared she could have a baby herself, explained that she had a back-up plan in case she didn't have a partner by the time she was 35.

"I was going to adopt at 35 if I had not met anyone," she said.
