Debbie Harry, the iconic singer, songwriter, and actress, is pushing 80 years old and beautiful as ever.
She rose to fame as the lead singer of the band Blondie in the 1970s. Join us as we take a look at how this legendary performer has changed over the years.

Deborah Ann Harry was born on July 1, 1945, in Miami, Florida. Her birth name was Angela Trimble, but her adoptive parents changed it when they adopted her at three months of age.

In the late sixties, before finding success in music, Deborah worked both as a go-go dancer and a P l @ y b o y Bunny. Here we see Harry in her Bunny outfit in the late 1960s.
Many may not know that this punk icon got her start in music with a folk-rock group.
At the end of the 1960s, Harry sang with The Wind in the Willows, which released an album in 1968 with Capitol Records.

Harry soon realized the folk scene wasn't for her and tried out several other bands. Eventually, Debbie and Chris Stein founded the group Blondie. The band quickly gained popularity and performed regularly at CBGB in New York City. The rest is history.
Debbie and Chris were in a relationship from before they started Blondie. The pair met in 1974 when they both were in the band Stilletoes. They stayed together until 1989 when they broke up.
As Blondie grew in popularity, Debbie Harry was a constant feature on the cover of different magazines.

Harry became the face of the band, and many thought her name was, in fact, Blondie rather than Debbie.

Harry and Stein named the group Blondie since that is what men often yelled to Harry on the streets after she dyed her hair blonde.

With their newfound fame, the band and Debbie often brushed shoulders with the megastars of the time. Here we see Teddy Pendergrass, Meat Loaf, and Deborah Harry.

Harry probably knew she had really "made it" when Andy Warhol used her as a muse! In 1980 Warhol made several pieces taken from a single photo-shoot of Debbie done at the Factory.
Andy Warhol made four canvas portraits of Debbie Harry in a variety of colours along with some rare silver gelatine prints from the shoot.
In 1981 Blondie took a year-long break, and Harry took time to focus on her solo career. The album 'KooKoo' came out in 1981, reaching number 25 in the US and number 6 in the UK.

Blondie ended up splitting up in 1982, and Debbie Harry spent the rest of the 1980s working on her own music, which was well-received by fans.

In 1987 Debbie tried her hand at acting. She landed a starring role in the comedy 'Forever, Lulu' in which she starred alongside Alec Baldwin. Here we see Harry with Matt Dylan and Richard Gere at an event in 1987.
During the 1990s, Harry continued to find success both as a solo artist and in the acting world. To the delight of fans in 1997, Blondie reunited after a long 15-year break.

In 1999 Blondie performed for the first time in the US in 17 years in New York City. Their album 'No Exit' was a success, with the single 'Maria' debuting in the number one spot in the UK.
Debbie Harry has a real passion for music. She hasn't stopped performing either solo or with the band since she started with music in 1968. Here, Harry performed in San Francisco in 2002.

In 2017 Blondie released their 11th studio album, so of course, Harry was back to promoting the band on magazine covers.

She's blonder than ever and still attending fashion, music, and art events.
In May 2022, she performed at the Cruel World festival at the age of 76.
Truly, there is no stopping Ms. Harry. Here she is performing at the opening of a Marc Jacobs store in October 2023, no doubt giving the fashion designer fresh inspiration.
Seen here at a show premiere at the Moma in New York in 2024, she was already 78 and looking fabulous with grey hair. It's hard to fathom, but somehow this woman becomes more iconic every year!
