Andrew McCarthy

Andrew McCarthy is known from 'Pretty in Pink' (in this photo on the right), but also from 'St. Elmo's Fire' and 'Weekend at Bernie's.' He even co-starred with a young Kim Cattrall (from 'Sex and the City') in the movie 'Mannequin.' Despite all these great titles, many will have forgotten about this 80s' icon.

Molly Ringwald

And then there's Molly Ringwald. She shot to fame thanks to 'The Breakfast Club' (1985) and 'Pretty in Pink' (1986), becoming an instant movie star and role model for many young women of the 80s.

Teri Garr

Remember Teri Garr? She played in 'Young Frankenstein' and also appeared in 'Close Encounters of the Third Kind' and 'Tootsie.'

Shelley Long

This is a more familiar face. Shelley Long is famous from the comedy 'Cheers,' and she also shared the poster with Tom Hanks in 'The Money Pit.'

Bob Hoskins

British actor Bob Hoskins enjoyed worldwide success with typical 80s' movies like 'Mermaids' and 'Who Framed Roger Rabbit.'

John Candy

John Candy was a great comedic actor of the 80s. The Canadian star played 'Uncle Buck' and appeared in 'National Lampoon's Vacation,' 'Splash,' and 'Planes, Trains, and Automobiles.' He passed away at a young age (43) in 1994. The cause was a heart attack.

Karen Allen

Karen Allen has appeared in many films but her best known role was that of Marion in the Indiana Jones movie 'Raiders of the Lost Ark.'

Jennifer Beals

The performance of Jennifer Beals in 'Flashdance' captivated the public. Subsequently, the Italian director Nanni Moretti selected her for 'Caro Diario.' More recently, this actress could be seen in 'The L Word'.

John Belushi

Blues Brother John Belushi (left) had a crazy lifestyle off-screen. He died young and tragically.

Lesley Ann Warren

Lesley Ann Warren was another 80s female icon. She got a Golden Globe nomination for her role in the musical comedy 'Victor/Victoria' (1982, image) and another for 'Songwriter' in 1984. Warren could have had Kathleen Turner's fame from 'Romancing the Stone,' but she turned down that role.

Christopher Atkins

Christopher Atkins was the hunk in 'The Blue Lagoon' (1980). And do you recognize his date on this photo? It's a very young Lori Loughlin!

Brooke Shields

'Blue Lagoon' - it's impossible to forget Brooke Shields, the star par excellence of the 80s. And she's still doing TV projects today.

Keith Carradine

Behind Brooke Shields (right) and Susan Sarandon (middle), you can see a young Keith Carradine. The actor may be familiar to you as the middle-aged Special Agent Frank Lundy in the series 'Dexter' (2007-2009). Steve Guttenberg was the "nice cop" in 'Police Academy.' Remember him? The name was Carey Mahoney. And then there was also the hit comedy 'Three Men and a Baby.'
