A nepo baby as the Lion King... What could possibly go wrong?

Have you heard of the term 'nepo baby'? It's what they call the child of a celebrity who makes it in their family's business thanks to the parent's access to fame. 'Nepo' comes from 'nepotism'. The famous offspring may have talent, but they might just as well lack it, and that's where the critics get upset.

At the height of the controversy over the benefits of 'nepo babies' in Hollywood, Kim Kardashian arrived and took the controversy to another level...

Amid the 30th anniversary of the Disney movie, commemorative performances and concerts are being held in several venues, including the Hollywood Bowl.

In Hollywood, Kim Kardashian came to see the show with one of her daughters, North West. She's one of the four children Kardashian had with Kanye West.

The concert was going on normally, the audience was enjoying itself, and then, the song 'I Just Can't Wait to Be King' was on.

To the surprise of many, North West appeared on stage, dressed as Simba. She performed the famous song from 'The Lion King.'

The performance was recorded and widely shared by parents and other audience members of the show. You can find dozens of videos of North West singing the song. But they were not publications out of admiration!

First, Kim Kardashian was criticized for sneaking North West into the show. There were even accusations of bribery in the comments of the videos on social media.

But worse than that was the fact that 10-year-old North West is not a particularly good singer. Her performance was unanimously criticized for the young girl's lack of talent.

Some comments below the videos even called for the audience to demand their money back after this flawed performance.

Until some other star's kid replaces her, North West is going to have the title of "the quintessential nepo baby" on social media.

And what does Kim Kardashian say? For now, she has limited herself to sharing several photos of her daughter dressed as Simba, just like any proud mother would.
