Goodbye to Jill Jacobson

Actress Jill Jacobson, one of the most recognizable faces of 1980s television, has died in Los Angeles after a long illness.

Official confirmation

Dan Haray, the actress's friend, confirmed the sad news of her death to The Hollywood Reporter.

Died in Los Angeles

Jill Jacobson passed away on December 8, 2024. The news was not known until days later. The actress was 70 years old.

Half a century ago...

Jill Jacobson began her career in Hollywood in the late 1970s, with small, even uncredited roles, such as her brief appearance in 'Splash' (1984).

The great opportunity

After more than eight years of looking for her chance, it came with a name and surname: Erin Jones, the character she would play in 'Falcon Crest' for 22 episodes, between 1985 and 1987.

From 'Falcon Crest' to stardom

Jill Jacobson's fame skyrocketed and, from then on, she chained together several years of incessant work, which allowed her to appear in legendary series such as 'The New Widget' (1986/1987), 'Newhart' (1989/1990) and 'Days of Our Lives' (1995).

'Star Trek' series

She also had the good fortune and talent to participate in two 'Star Trek' series: 'The Next Generation' (1989) and 'Star Trek: Deep Space Nine' (1996), playing Vanessa and Aroya, respectively.

Slowing down in the 21st century

Over the past 30 years, Jill Jacobson continued to make films and television but to a much lesser extent.

Last time public in 2020

Her last work was a brief appearance in the series 'Etheria', back in 2020, which would be her last appearance on television until her death.

She was a stand-up queen

Now, Jill Jacobson never stopped doing stand-up comedy. In fact, the actress was a regular at The Improv and The Comedy Store in Los Angeles, where she took to the stage for years. Starting December 2024, unfortunately, her laugh is gone forever.
