Kurt Cobain took his own life in April 1994. He left behind his wife Courtney Love and a daughter, Frances Bean Cobain.

Paul McCartney

Paul and Linda McCartney formed one of pop's great iconic couples. For 30 years they shared a life together. In 1995, breast cancer was discovered in Linda's body. It soon spread to her liver, and she died two years later.

Craig Raymond Turner, the son of Tina Turner, was 59 years old when they found him with a self-inflicted gunshot wound in the head in July 2018. It was unclear whether he did it on purpose or by accident.

Caroline of Monaco

Princess Caroline of Monaco and Stefano Casiraghi were happily married until he died in a boating accident while racing in the waters of Monte Carlo. It happened in 1990 and he was just 30 years old.

Liam Neeson

Liam Neeson lost his wife, the actress Natasha Richardson, to a ski accident in 2009. She was 45 years old.

Olivia Newton John

The late Olivia Newton John had a tragic and curious experience with a loved one. Patrick McDermont, her boyfriend disappeared during a boat trip in the summer of 2005. Eleven years later, a private detective claimed he had found the man who allegedly confessed that he had planned his disappearance to start a new life elsewhere. The story was never substantiated.

The Minnesota Timberwolves player suffered immensely from the Covid-19 pandemic. Karl Anthony Towns lost seven family members to the coronavirus in 2020, including his mother, Jacqueline Cruz-Towns.

Paul Newman

Newman's son Scott, born from his first marriage to Jackie Witte, developed a dependence on painkillers after a motorcycle accident. In 1978, when the young man was 28 years old, he died from the intake of a deadly mixture of alcohol, Valium and painkillers.

Anna Nicole Smith

Anna Nicole Smith's son, Daniel Wayne, died in the Bahamas at the age of 20 from a lethal combination of drugs. The actress and model never got over that loss, in 2006, and fell into depression until she died in 2007.

The singer lost her son Beckett (pictured here at age 13) to an overdose when he was 21 years old. It happened in May 2020.

John Travolta

Jett Travolta was 16 years old when he dramatically lost his life. John Travolta's son fatally hit his head when he had a seizure in the bathroom of the family's Bahamas' suite. He died upon arriving at the hospital.

Joe Biden

In December 1972, Joe Biden's wife Neilia was involved in a terrible car accident with their three children. The car was hit by a truck and both Neilia and their 13-year-old daughter Naomi died. The two eldest sons, Hunter and Beau, survived the crash. Beau would later pass away from brain cancer, at the age of 46, in 2015.

William Shatner

The 'Star Trek' actor found the lifeless body of his third wife, Nerine Kidd, in the pool of their Hollywood Hills home in August 1999, when she was only 40 years old. According to the autopsy, Kidd had elevated levels of alcohol and pills in her blood, which led to her fatal accident.

Gerard Depardieu

37-year-old actor Guillaume Depardieu, son of the famous French actor Gerard Depardieu, died in November 2008 as a result of pneumonia. He had contracted it in Romania while filming Alexandre Iordachescu's 'L'enfance d'Icare' ('The Childhood of Icarus').
