She's 25 years old and has a degree in software engineering. For the time being, Miss Mexico works as a professional model and makeup artist while engaging in activism for women's rights.

Miss Great Britain - Jeanette Akua

Jeanette Akua is 29 years old and has a Master's degree in international economic analysis and policy. She's a business development manager for a consultancy firm and also the founder of the 'Be Audacious' campaign, which aims to empower women and girls.

Miss Brazil - Julia Gama

This Chemical Engineering grad is 27 years old and speaks four languages: Portuguese, Spanish, English, and Mandarin. So much so that she managed to get roles as an actress in China.

Miss Ireland - Nadia Sayers

Miss Ireland, Nadia Sayers is a mental health early intervention worker who collaborates in suicide prevention campaigns. She is 26 years old and has a degree in psychology.

Miss Romania - Bianca Lorena Tirsin

Miss Romania is a 22-year-old business administration student and ambassador for 'Cetatea Voluntarilor Arad' which focuses on rehabilitating hospitals, organizing events for children with Down syndrome, and raising funds for impoverished communities.

Miss Singapore - Bernadette Belle Ong

Bernadette (26) has worked as a model and actress. She also holds a degree in accounting and has a background in culinary arts. Together with the organization 'It's Raining Raincoats,' she assists in projects to improve the lives of marginalized groups.

Miss Australia - Maria Thattil

Maria Thattil has an Honours Degree in Psychology and a Master's in Management. Aged 28, she works as a life coach and is ambassador 'SisterWorks' and a volunteer for 'Mission Australia'. During the COVID-19 lockdown, Maria held an internationally successful Empowerment Series on Instagram: 'Mind With Me'.

Miss Indonesia - Ayu Maulida

A law graduate and 23 years old, Miss Indonesia is the co-founder of 'Senyum Desa/ Smiling Village', an association for the improvement of rural areas in her country. She also advocates schooling and medical care for all.

Miss Iceland - Elísabet Hulda

This contestant speaks Icelandic and Chinese! She's 22 years old and works with various organizations for immigrants and children with a chronic illness.

Miss Canada - Nova Stevens

Nova Stevens was sent to Canada as a 6-year old girl, fleeing the civil war in Sudan. As a result, she grew up separately from her family. Now, she is 27 years old and promotes a healthy development for children and the eradication of hatred and racism. Miss Canada enjoys acting and modelling and has participated in some productions of the Vancouver film industry.

Miss Curacao - Chantal Wiertz

Miss Curacao is 22 years old and an international model. She is also studying food and beverage management and gives dressage training and equine therapy to children with special needs. Having been diagnosed with autism, she started the campaign #celebrateyouruniqueness to empower other people with a neurodivergence.

Miss Kosovo - Blerta Veseli

This 25-year old Architecture student has worked with several NGOs to improve the living conditions in Kosovo. In addition, Blerta is developing a new brand of hair products that she hopes to launch soon.

Miss Argentina - Alina Luz Akselrad

Alina (23) is a model but also a flight crew member and author of the book 'Embrace Your Power' ('Abraza tu poder'). Having suffered bullying, the Argentinian Miss Universe contestant supports various initiatives that promote equality.

Miss Albania - Paula Mehmetukaj

Miss Albania founded the 'Bashke Foundation,' which focuses on the reconstruction and revival of public spaces. Just 23 years old, she's also doing an MBA at the moment and fighting for the rights of women and animals.

Miss Bahamas - Shauntae A. Miller

Miss Bahamas has a master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. At age 28, she's also a representative for 'Get Fit Bahamas,' a foundation promoting good nutrition and healthy lifestyles.

Andrea Martínez (27) has been working as a sales manager, first for Armani in Milan, then for her own e-commerce company in Spain. Miss Spain has a degree in Business Management.

Miss Armenia - Monika Grigoryan

At age 21, Miss Armenia is studying languages and social sciences while working as a translator for the PR department of a logistics company. She's active as a model and tries to be an example for children to feel less insecure about their appearance.

Miss Aruba - Helen Hernandez

Helen Hernandez (20) has her own car rental agency. She also studies corporate management and works as an ambassador for CEDE Aruba, a foundation for the development of the island community.

Miss Belgium: Dhenia Covens

A professional makeup artist, Miss Belgium is managing a Hollister store at only 23. She wants to become a coach in beauty pageants and has been dancing since she was 5 years old.

Miss Barbados - Hillary-Ann Williams

With 25 years of age, Hillary-Ann Williams sees herself as a fierce defender of women against gendered violence. She works closely with the United Nations Women's Secretariat in Barbados.

Miss Belize: Iris Salguero

Miss Belize paid for her own education and had to start working very early on to build her savings account. Now, at age 24, she is getting her degree in digital marketing and hopes to eventually open a trade school in her community.

Miss Haiti - Eden Berandoive

A student of psychology and English, Eden (24) works in marketing for a major company and volunteers for access to education. She's a survivor of sexual abuse and dedicates her time to representing other victims trying to overcome these assaults.

Miss Ghana - Chelsea Tayui

Miss Ghana, Chelsea advocates equal access to basic needs for everyone on the planet. That sounds like the typical utopian beauty pageant statement, but the 'KJM' foundation she works for is trying to achieve just that. For example, it aims to bring clean water to impoverished villages in Ghana. In addition, the 25-year old Communication graduate advocates a policy change in Ghana's education system to enable all children to go to school.

Miss Bolivia - Lenka Nemer

This Bolivian beauty queen has Croatian and Lebanese roots. She's 24 years old, studied International Relations and is a TV host known for her great academic preparation and feminist thinking.

Miss China - Jiaxin Sun

With 23 years, Miss China has a degree in management and mentors young leaders while also supporting rural women and their businesses through her own 'Mother-Made Club'.

Miss Cameroon - Angele Kossinda

Miss Cameroon gives free math lessons to children with few resources. She's 28 years old and has a Master's degree in Finance. In her free time, she works as an actress in a YouTube comedy series.

Miss Cambodia - Sarita Reth

She graduated with an English degree and is now doing a Master's in International Relations. Sarita Reth is 26 years old and presents the BBC programme 'Love9'.

Miss Chile - Daniela Nicolás

Miss Chile is a TV host and actress of 28 years. She initially began her studies in Odontology but decided to switch to journalism, a study she never finished because of her thriving television career. In 2018 she was selected as the host of Fox Sports Chile. So she's quite famous already!

Miss Colombia - Laura Olascuaga

Journalist and model Laura Olascuaga is 25 years old and loves to play the violin. One of her major sources of income is modelling.

Miss Korea - Hari Park

She's a student of the Women's University in Dongduk and 21 years old. Her focus is on the arts and modelling. When she's free, Hari teaches English to small children and volunteers in an animal refuge.

Miss Costa Rica - Ivonne Cerdas

Miss Costa Rica is a software engineer and a model. At age 27, she represents a local organization that helps children who were born with a cleft palate.

Miss Croatia - Mirna Naiia Marić

A graduate of the School of Applied Arts and Design, Miss Croatia is 22 years old. As an international model, she's in the process of starting her own swimwear and clothing company. Mirna already has her own clothing brand 'Naiia' for young people.

Miss Denmark - Amanda Petri

She is 23 years old and about to finish her studies of international business communication. Having been a victim of cyberbullying, Amanda supports different causes regarding gender equality and anti-bullying campaigns.

Miss El Salvador - Vanessa Velásquez

Miss El Salvador (25) works as a model, ambassador and influencer. She has her own foundation 'Angel Hands by Vane' which helps children in hospitals and provides food to underprivileged communities.

Miss USA - Asya Branch

She's Miss Mississippi and the first of her state to win the national beauty pageant. At age 23, she's completed the Harvard University summer school. Before that, she graduated in Journalism and New Media in the University of Mississippi.

Miss Philippines - Rabiya Mateo

This physiotherapy graduate is currently an education ambassador for the Philippines, working with the nation's Department of Education. The 24-year old beauty queen has her own project - 'Feed Me and I Read You' - which helps underprivileged children through nutrition programs and reading sessions.

Miss Finland - Viivi Altonen

She's 24 and studying social psychology and anthropology. In addition, she's a diving instructor and model. Miss Finland also volunteers for the UN campaign #SheCan for gender equality and empowerment of women.

Miss Netherlands - Denise Speelman

Miss Netherlands loves to work with dogs. The 24-year old owner of a fashion styling company assists 'Hulphond Nederland' in her free time - an organisation that trains dogs to help people with physical and mental problems. Denise also promotes body possibility after overcoming an eating disorder a few years ago.

Miss France - Amandine Petit

At age 23, Amandine is pursuing a Master's degree in Social, Health and Gerontological Management. The beauty queen also has her own weekly radio show in which she tries to spread positivity, and she works with 'Les Bonnes Fées', an association that for disadvantaged women.

Miss British Virgin Islands - Shabree Frett

This committed beauty queen founded her own organisation, 'Lend A Hand BVI', to help families in need in her community. She is 24 years old and has a degree in Communicative Sciences and Disorders. Her education helps her to run a social platform 'B3 You' with the aim of creating a space for people to overcome personal struggles.

Miss Japan - Aisha Tochigi

Aisha (25) is an activist for the eradication of malaria and for women's and orphans' rights. Aisha was a victim of extreme poverty as a child and contracted malaria while living in Africa, so she aims to strengthen support for these causes. Also, as a minority in Japan, Aisha suffered discrimination, so she now uses her platform as a black Asian woman to raise awareness about discrimination and advocate for equality.

Miss India - Adline Castelino

Adline, a business graduate of 22, is a model and works with leading agencies in India. She's appeared in magazines, TV shows and digital campaigns. Miss India also works as a goodwill ambassador for 'Smile Train', an organisation that provides affordable healthcare to women.

Miss Honduras: Cecilia Rossell

She is 25, studies social communication and advertising, and works with CES, a Yale University student organisation that informs underdeveloped communities about health and nutrition. Since her mother passed away from cancer, Cecilia spends part of her time visiting cancer patients to encourage and support them.

Miss Cayman Islands - Mariah Tibbetts

This professional accountant and Miss Cayman Islands is 27 years old. She collaborates with various community support organisations and works with the Cancer Society as an ambassador.

Miss Israel - Tehila Levi

After finishing high school, this 19-year old is fulfilling her military service in the Israeli army. She also volunteers at a kindergarten for children with special needs and supports associations focused on speech therapy for children with autism.

Miss Malaysia - Francisca Luhong James

Miss Malaysia Francisca Luhong James (25) combines modelling with charity work for children with special needs. She graduated with an Honours degree in Mass Communications, specializing in Public Relations.

Miss Italy - Viviana Vizzini

As quite a few other Misses, Viviana Vizzini from Italy also studied Communication and Marketing. She's 27 years old and works as an ambassador of the Italian Red Cross while also supporting 'Casa Penélope', a refuge for women in need of a life in safety and security.

Miss Ecuador - Leyla Espinoza Calvache

She is 24 years old, a student of international business, a professional model and an accounting assistant. She works for several social initiatives and helps donate wheelchairs, beds and other necessities for disabled people.

Miss Mauritius - Vandana Jeetah

This beauty queen has a law degree and works as a solicitor. She's described by her colleagues as ambitious and a free spirit. Vandana is 29 years old and speaks four languages.

Miss Malta - Anthea Zammit

Miss Malta can dance! She's 26 years old and has a BA in Dance Studies in the pocket. In addition, she studies Law. Anthea works with an NGO that funds educational courses and materials for vulnerable women and abused children.

Miss Nepal - Anshika Sharma

Having graduated in Information Technology, the 24-year old Miss Nepal currently works as a business analyst at DHL. She's very good at her job and received the title 'Employee of the Year.'

Miss Puerto Rico - Estefanía Soto Torres

She is 29 years old, has a bachelor's degree in foreign languages and a master's degree in intercultural mediation. She has worked for several international organisations and is also the host of the podcast 'Voces de Reinas' ('Voices of Queens').

Miss Laos - Christina Lasasimma

Miss Laos (27) has her own health beverage brand 'MOii Collagen'. She's a master's student in software engineering while also working as a model and influencer. In addition, Christina volunteers to support HIV patients and their families.

Miss Nicaragua - Ana Marcelo

This agro-industrial engineer has collaborated in various social aid projects such as aid for young Nicaraguans living in vulnerable rural areas. She is 24 years old.

Miss Kazakhstan - Kamila Serikbai

As a law student, Kamila plans to help low-income families to protect their rights once she's got her diploma. During the pandemic, she volunteered in hospitals to help doctors and patients struggling with COVID-19. Miss Kazakhstan is one of the youngest contestants with only 18 years.

Miss Jamaica - Miqueal-Symone Williams

Miss Jamaica is an ambitious 24-year-old with a degree in marketing. She also boasts an international modelling career with assignments in the UK, Paris, Spain and New York for brands such as Valentino, Loreal and Armani. She is the founder of 'The Bloom Initiative', a project that provides internet access to Jamaican children who are unable to attend online school classes due to lack of resources.

Miss Norway - Sunniva Frigstad

21 Years of age, Miss Norway is a student of Marketing and Management. She also works closely with 'Enough Norway', an organization dedicated to the prevention and support of victims of sexual abuse.

Miss Myanmar - Thuzar Wint Lwin

As a breast cancer survivor, Thuzar (22) participates in breast cancer awareness campaigns while also supporting patients going through this struggle. She studies English and has a diploma in tourism and hotel management. Finally, Miss Myanmar works as a professional model and beauty blogger.

Miss Panama - Carmen Jaramillo

This busy Miss is studying at two universities at the same time: both journalism school and Psychology. She is 26 years old and works as a model to pay the bills. In addition, she is the founder of the movement 'Connect Your Power,' supporting communities that are short on resources.

Miss Czech Republic - Klára Vavrušková

A student of dental hygiene, the 21-year old Miss Czech Republic works as a volunteer in child and elderly care centres.

Miss Peru - Janick Maceta del Castillo

27 years old, Janick is an audio engineer at The Manhattan Center. She was the founder of the 'Top of New York Music' movement which aims to promote young musicians and the production of their music. In Peru, she established the organization 'Little Heroes', providing legal and psychological aid to children and families who are victims of sexual violence.

Miss Paraguay - Vanessa Castro Guillén

She is 28 years old, works as an architect and volunteered in supporting the rehabilitation of children with different disabilities. Miss Paraguay loves spending time with her family and pets.

Miss South Africa - Natasha Joubert

Natasha (23) has a degree in marketing management from the Boston City Campus. She worked as a public relations officer for a law firm, but now she runs a company specializing in high fashion: 'Natalia Jefferys'.

Miss Poland - Natalia Piguła

Natalia Piguła is 27 years old runs her own transportation and courier services company. She has a degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering. At Christmas time, Natalia organizes events for children with cancer to help them cope with the disease.

Miss Portugal - Cristiana Silva

Miss Portugal is a law student of 19. She uses her social media accounts to fight against domestic violence and harassment. In addition, Cristiana has been involved with organizations such as 'Best Buddies' and 'Smile Train', both dedicated to helping victims of domestic abuse.

Miss Dominican Republic - Kimberly Jiménez

24 Years ago, Kimberley was born in Puerto Rico. However, she grew up in the Dominican Republic and now represents the country in Miss Universe. At the moment, she is studying for a double degree in forensic science and business administration while also working as a model and theatre actress.

Miss Slovakia - Natália Hoštáková

This Slovakian Miss is 26 years old and has a degree in business administration and economics. She volunteers in elderly care centers and strives to encourage other women to excel and fulfil their dreams.

Miss Thailand - Amanda Obdam

Amanda (27) is co-founder of 'Batika Studio', a sustainable clothing and handbag brand. She graduated with Honours from the University of Toronto with a degree in Business Administration.

Miss Vietnam - Khanh Van Nguyen Tran

Miss Vietnam (25) currently serves as an ambassador for 'One Body Village', an organization that supports, rescues and helps girls who are exploited, sexually abused or are in danger. She holds a degree in theater and film.

Miss Russia - Alina Sanko

She is 22 years old and has a degree in land administration, architecture and design plus a Master's in television. Miss Russia considers herself an art enthusiast. Her hobby is painting and she's currently preparing her own art exhibition.

Miss Ukraine - Yelyzaveta Yastremska

Miss Ukraine is currently studying philosophy and meditation at an academy in India. She's 28 years old and has a degree in marketing and human resources. Before going to India, she has a busy career as a make-up artist, model, TV presenter and fashion designer.

Miss Uruguay - Lola de los Santos

Lola defines herself as passionate about the environment and seeks to raise awareness about ways to live sustainably. In addition, she promotes volunteer events to help clean beaches and oceans. Miss Uruguay is only 23 years old but already quite famous: she works in a national TV show called 'Deal Done'.

Miss Venezuela - Mariangel Villasmil

Miss Venezuela is 25 years old, a psychology student and certified pastry chef. She owns Slainte Cakes, a small business that employs local women, and she also started the 'Give a Sweet Smile' campaign that delivers birthday cakes to children's hospitals and nursing homes. Finally, after a botched cosmetic operation, Mariangel has become an advocate of the 'Love Yourself' movement, lecturing on body positivity and entrepreneurship.
