The Hollywood Reporter states that 'Squid Game: The Challenge' has similar games as in the series, but they will be adapted to the new format.

'Squid Game: The Challenge' will be recorded over the course of four weeks at the beginning of 2023, according to the conditions for candidates.

Netflix has enabled a Squid Game Casting website for candidates from around the world to submit their applications.

The main requirements to participate in the game are: to be over 21 years old, speak English and have a valid passport. That's not bad for $4.56 million!

'Squid Game: The Challenge' will be a co-production between Studio Lambert and The Garden. It will be shot in the UK.

At the moment, the premiere of the 'real' Squid Game has no date, although it is expected to arrive sometime in 2023.

The reality show will have ten episodes. If successful, it is likely to start filming in other languages besides English.

To get an idea of what a production like 'Squid Game: The Challenge' entails, it is worth going back to November 2021, when YouTuber Mr. Beast made his own version of the Squid Game, also with 456 participants.

The content creator distributed a more modest prize to the winner: 456,000 dollars. However, the preparation of the project cost him 3.5 million, Mr. Beast said.

The return for his investment has been a huge number of viewers, which means he made a lot of advertising money from YouTube. Mr. Beast has already gotten more than 258 million views with his spectacular adaptation of the series.
