Some fans will do anything to own the items of their favourite stars. Above all, they are willing to spend a load of money to buy the most unusual items.  Here is a selection of the 20 most expensive and improbable items, once owned by celebrities, that have been auctioned off.

In 2010, three X-rays of Marilyn Monroe's chest sold for $ 45,000. Who has that kind of money to spare??!!

It is by far the most expensive dress in the world. Marilyn Monroe wore it during her performance of 'Happy Birthday, Mr. President' at Madison Square Garden. In 2016 the dress sold for $4.8 million. At this price, we would expect that whoever purchased the dress will be keeping it under lock and key. But no, in 2022, Kim Kardashian wore the original piece on the red carpet of the Met Gala - and she damaged it...

Helen Churchill was a writer and journalist. She boarded the Titanic to find her son after learning that he had been in an accident. But when the ship sunk, Helen Churchill gave a passenger a medal with the portrait of her son. This item was sold for £58,000.

Another item from the legendary Titanic. Esther Hart wrote this letter eight hours before the sinking of the ship. It is the last letter written aboard the Titanic. Auctioned off for £119,000, it had remained in good condition as it was placed in the pocket of the coat Esther's husband gave her when she boarded a lifeboat. Tragic.

One of the dresses worn by the actress Kate Winslet in the film 'Titanic' was purchased for $330,000 in 2012. This is the dress that Rose wears when she first meets Jack - the young Leonardo DiCaprio - on the boat.

This gold Cartier Tank watch, which belonged to Jackie Kennedy, is very popular with watch enthusiasts. Gifted to Jackie by her brother-in-law Prince Stanislaw, “Stas” Radzivill in 1963, the watch is engraved on the back: “Stas to Jackie 23 Feb. 63 2:05 to 9:35 pm.” These times refer to the special 50-mile hike organized in Palm Beach that year by John F. Only a very wealthy and fanatical movie fan could have bought this item! According to Business Insider, the ruby red slippers that Judy Garland wore in 'The Wizard of Oz' were listed at $6 million at an auction site, the price seems a little steep considering there is more than one pair!
