This is Lourdes Leon, Madonna's rebellious daughter

This young lady is Lourdes Maria Ciccone Leon, the daughter of Madonna. Born in Los Angeles in 1996, she's making a name for herself as a model. The May 2021 issue of Vanity Fair features Lourdes Leon  and says the young woman is "ready to Express Herself" - a play on Madonna's famous hit song in 1989.

Madonna's daughter, called Lola by friends, was born from the union between her very famous mother, Madonna, and the Cuban choreographer and dancer Carlos Leon.

Lourdes grew up with her mother and father, now separated, and her brothers and sisters. Madonna has a total of six children. They say Lourdes Leon has always been the apple of her eye. However, Madonna's firstborn has given more than one headache to the singer as well.

Although she went to college, with fashion courses and then Arts Studies at the University of Michigan, Lourdes continued to party hard. The media closely followed her excesses, and the young woman repeated some of her famous mother's controversies. It was like the 1980s again. She was the 'enfant terrible' of the celebrity world.

Substance absuse, impossible looks, and heated arguments overheard by curious media, made Madonna's daughter highly controversial.

Madonna told the American edition of Vogue that Lourdes believed her mother's fame was detrimental to her. Many of Madonna's haters, she said, also criticized her children, and especially Lourdes Leon. The girl herself told Marie Claire: "I have too many people behind me, judging me."

Lourdes Leon decided to challenge everyone who judged her by living an "anti-glamour" lifestyle, as Marie Claire calls it. She showed up at parties with the weirdest looks and became the center of debates of whether women should shave their armpits or keep their hair for everyone to see.

"Lola is independent, inspiring and a great young and free spirit," designer Stella McCartney says. She worked with Lourdes on a fashion campaign. "Despite being born under the pressure of the spotlight, she has always kept her feet on the ground," McCartney added.

Is her rebelliousness just an act, or is she for real? Madonna's daughter continues to get media attention for her supposed "anti-glamorous life" In Argentina, the paper Clarin says, for example, that Lourdes "has a very low profile and is a militant of a very particular fashion." They imply that she is not looking for media attention with her unorthodox styles.

Other media report about Lola's party life. "Lourdes Leon ends up badly damaged after a party in London," a Spanish newspaper reported after one of the woman's excesses. The question arose: was this reality or an attempt to sell a controversial image in order to have more presence in the media?

Amidst the harsh headlines, the twenty-something Lourdes Leon continues her education in the world of fashion. She has already participated in campaigns for different brands and big names in the industry. Stella McCartney, Desigual and Jean Paul Gaultier have counted on her as an ambassador for their latest creations.

In 2019, Lourdes Leon even mounted the catwalk to show the latests collections of Jeremy Scott and Gypsy Sport.
