Farewell to Ned Eisenberg

Actor Ned Eisenberg has died this weekend. His wife, Patricia Dunnock, confirmed the news to TMZ with a statement.

He died of cancer

"As Ned would say, he was attacked by two very strange killers: cholangiocarcinoma and ocular melanoma," Patricia Dunnock said in her statement.

A battle of two years

"Over the course of two years, he valiantly and privately battled cancer, while continuing to work in show business," the letter continues.

He kept working even when he was sick

How and why did the actor continue to work under those circumstances? That is also clarified by Patricia Eisenberg in the statement.

Ned Eisenberg and his son Lino

Her husband had to keep working "to make sure his medical coverage paid for him and his family," she says. In addition to Patricia, the family included their son Lino, who's an actor too.

A career of four decades

The actor had a prolific career of more than 40 years in which he played important secondary roles in outstanding movies and tv shows.

'Easttown' and 'Blacklist' in 2021

His last two roles were in the well-known series 'Mare of Easttown' (HBO) and 'The Blacklist' (NBC), both in 2021, when he had already had cancer for a year.

Detective Hauser

In 'Mare of Easttown', Ned Eisenberg played the role of Detective Hauser, along with Kate Winslet and Evan Peters. It was a fitting role for him, as he had already made a name in other crime dramas, such as 'Law & Order' (image).

Debut in the eighties

Born in January 1957, Ned Eisenberg was 65 years old and had made his film debut in 1980, with 'The Exterminator', after graduating from the Performing Arts High School in New York.

With Sonny Crockett and Ricardo Tubbs

In the 80s, participated in 'Miami Vice' while starring in films like 'The Soldier' (1982), 'Firstborn' (1984) and 'Hiding Out' (1987).

He was one of the Fanelli boys

In the nineties he became a regular secondary actor in series like 'The Fanelli Boys' (1990), 'LA Law' (1993), 'Law & Order' (1997) and 'The Sopranos' (1999).

A regular in the courts

In 'Law & Order' he had a recurring role as defense attorney James Granick, whom he played seven times between 1997 and 2009.

Consolidated career in the 21st century

The 21st century only confirmed that Ned Eisenberg was a recurring actor who always delivered, both as a friend and as a villain.

His filmography includes big titles

In the last two decades, the interpreter appeared in 'NYPD Blue' (2002), 'New Amsterdam' (2008), 'Blue Bloods' (2011), '30 Rock' (2012), 'White Collar' ( 2013) and 'Madam Secretary' (2014).

Successful series

In recent years, in fact, every series in which he appeared became or was already a resounding success.

A great actor is gone

And the titles prove it: 'The Good Wife' (2015), 'The Night Of' (2016), 'Bull' (2016), 'Elementary' (2018), 'The Marvelous Mrs. Masiel' (2019), 'The Plot Against America' (2020) or 'Little Voice' (2020).
