Adam Hicks: another Disney with a RAP sheet
Adam Hicks had everything to become a global Disney star at the same time when Miley Cyrus, Selena Gomez, and his friend Mitchell Musso were making waves.
He was a talented actor, he sang, he wrote songs, and he had that good-boy image that is so popular in the Disney studios.
Disney gave the 16-year-old Adam Hicks a leading role in the series 'Zeke & Luther'. He played Luther for 3 seasons and 77 episodes, between 2009 and 2012.
The young actor alternated his successful series with films like 'Lemonade Mouth' (cast in the photo) and recurring roles in series like 'Jonas L.A' or 'Pair of Kings'.
At the same time, Disney also promoted his musical career. It used several of his songs for their productions. The future looked bright for Adam Hicks, but everything started to go wrong in 2014.
That year, Tristan, Adam Hicks' younger brother had a car accident that caused the death of a 17-year-old girl in Las Vegas, TMZ reported.
Adam Hicks would testify on behalf of his brother, 18 years old at the time, in addition to paying his bail and the legal expenses of the trial. Tristan would be free on parole.
Everything got worse in 2015 when his mother, Lucy, died unexpectedly of a heart attack. According to Adam Hicks himself, Tristan's accident had affected his mother very much.
As the actor himself acknowledges, he had a mental health problem at the time. He was also fighting some addictions that made his situation only worse.

In 2017, Adam Hicks' career began to fade. In July, as TMZ reported, the actor shot himself in the leg while partying with his friends. He was arrested, but the case was closed after the actor assured the court that it had been an accident.
Two months later, Adam Hicks was arrested for the alleged abuse of his girlfriend, Danni Tamburro. In the end, she would not press charges against him.
Curiously, the couple would be at the center of the incident that, finally, led them both to prison. It happened on January 25, 2018, as they were arrested in Burbank, California on suspicion of armed robbery.
According to TMZ, the couple assaulted two elderly women, beat them, and took valuables from them. Adam Hicks got sentenced to five years in prison, although he would be released on parole in March 2022, having spent 1,460 days in jail.
Time has passed and Adam Hicks' career as an actor and Disney boy has become a thing of the past. However, he seems willing to relaunch his musical career as a rapper.

The artist has shown his regret of the crime in several Instagram videos. There, he also tries to make mental health visible and advocates better treatments for those who need it.

It remains to be seen if Adam Hicks' career will take off without the support of a powerhouse like Disney. He did join the actors' strike in 2023 to show that he refuses to be replaced by AI... So he's not giving up!
