What makes KickFlip so special is the background behind it’s creation. According to Chosun Ilbo, the members of KickFlip were selected from the SBS reality TV program ‘LOUD’.
Continuing from the same report on the Chosun Ilbo, ‘LOUD’ was unique in itself as it was a joint reality TV competition show organised by two entertainment companies in the K-pop scene, JYP Entertainment and P Nation.
According to Allkpop, the purpose of ‘LOUD’ was to create two separate boy bands in JYP Entertainment and P Nation respectively, by selecting members from the show, to create a “worldwide boy group”. The competition took place and aired between June and September 2021.
Winners of the show were selected to become members of JYP Entertainment and P Nation, and P Nation’s boy band from the show debuted first in 2022 as the boy band ‘TNX’, reported Osen.
Now in 2025, the members from ‘LOUD’ who have been training under JYP Entertainment since have finally debuted under the name KickFlip!
Initially, KickFlip was meant to be a five-member boy band with the members Yoon Min, Lee Gye-hun, Keiju Okamoto, Amaru Mitsuyuki, and Lee Dong-hyeon. However, the lineup has changed since then when Yoon Min decided to leave the group and JYP Entertainment subsequently in 2023, reports The Korea Times.

However, KickFilp has managed to increase in number with the addition of three new members. Soompi reports that the three new members are: Lee Dong-hwa, Choi Min-je, and Jang Ju-wang. All three new additions to KickFlip have not been a part of ‘LOUD’.
KickFlip has since debuted with the song ‘Mama Said’, that is a part of their debut album, ‘Flip it, Kick it!’, on January 20! The group had initially planned to debut on January 1, but pushed the date later in lieu of the Jeju air plane crash tragedy, reported Allkpop.
