What really happened in the family feud of Nicola and Brooklyn Peltz Beckham?

Nicola Peltz, the wife of Brooklyn Beckham, spoke out as to what happened in the lead-up to her no-expenses-spared wedding earlier in 2022. Media were in a frenzy trying to get to the bottom of a possible family feud - and it was all about the dress.

The US actress told The Times that she wanted to wear her mother-in-law's design but her atelier couldn't make it in time: "The real truth is, I really, really wanted to wear it and I thought it was so beautiful that Brooklyn's mom got to make that for me! And I was really excited to wear it! And I didn't end up wearing it."

The wedding dress Nicola chose was dreamed up by the Valentino headquarters in Rome. In fact, the actress confirmed that her dress was designed by Pierpaolo Piccioli, the creative director of the fashion house. She previously told CR Fashion Book that she would be wearing multiple Valentino numbers throughout the event. Her Valentino couture gown with a show-stopping train was a classic - yet modern - piece of art.

That's right. That's what the actress originally stated in an interview with Variety: that schedules couldn't make it work. "I was going to [wear Victoria’s design] and I really wanted to, and then a few months down the line, she realized that her atelier couldn’t do it," Nicola explained. "So then I had to pick another dress. She didn’t say you can’t wear it; I didn’t say I didn’t want to wear it. That’s where it started, and then they ran with that."

Nicola Peltz decided to close the conversation down once and for all. Signing off the interview with The Times, she said, "That’s really what happened". At the time, however, there was much speculation as to what was going on in the Beckham household - so much so, that the couple felt they needed to publicly state there was peace and harmony within the family.

"Everyone gets along." Those were the words the newlyweds told Variety in an interview following their wedding. There had been much speculation that things might not be fine between Nicola and her mother-in-law (Victoria Beckham) and that perhaps not everyone 'got along'.

The press had noted that Nicola had posted less family photos on her Instagram. Many came to the conclusion that there was a breakdown in relationships within the Beckham household.

Not only does this come from Nicola's side, but also from her mother-in-law, as fans were quick to notice that Victoria Beckham congratulated 'Mr and Mrs Beckham' on their wedding. Why should this be a scandal? The newlyweds had decided to keep both names and be called Mr and Mrs Peltz Beckham.

Peltz Beckham. Brooklyn, too, took on both surnames. According to the Page Six unknown source, Victoria was said to have been hurt when Brooklyn shared Nicola’s Tatler magazine cover that called her “the new Mrs. Beckham”: and thus continued the 'petty drama' as Insider described.

According to the same source for Page Six, there were tensions leading up to their wedding and, in fact said that 'the build-up to the wedding was horrendous.' Not to mention many fans were quick to notice Nicola did not wear one of her mother-in-law's designs.

Nevertheless, the event seemed to go smoothly without any dramas reported. The high profile celebrity wedding took place on the 9th April 2022. Brooklyn Beckham - now Peltz Beckham of course - watched his bride walk down the aisle and it's clear it was a fairytale for all involved.

Although Brooklyn and Nicola now live in a £7.7 million Beverly Hills property, the wedding took place at one of the Peltz family’s homes: Montsorrel, a £76-million, 27-bedroom, Regency-style oceanfront estate in Palm Beach, Florida.

When there is so much money lying around, especially regarding the fortune Miss Peltz is due to inherit; the couple had previously, of course, signed a prenup, according to the Daily Mail.

That’s right, with a VIP guest list that shines in pure glamour, there must be a hefty bill at the end of the day. Hola! Magazine have estimated it came in at a whopping $4 million. Peanuts for the couple? Probably.

Perhaps a large chunk of the bill could be going towards the entertainment - they had hired the legendary Snoop Dogg to DJ at the event, according to The Mirror. "David has been my boy for over 10 years and I am very close to his family," the rapper said.

The marriage of Brooklyn and his beau has been a talking point within the A-lister crowd leading up to the event. Could it be a match that will last? On Instagram, Brooklyn called his fiancé, Nicola Peltz, his ‘wife for life’.

"I'm the youngest sister, but growing up with so many boys makes you tough. You get teased. There's no tiptoeing around each other. You say it the way it is; you're honest," said the actress in Interview Magazine.

Mr and Mrs Peltz Beckham had previously been dating for four years and were engaged for two years.

She has been filming a series for Disney+ ‘Welcome to Chippendale’ alongside Downton Abbey star Dan Stevens. It is set to be a must-watch series.
