Carlos Santana collapses on stage - shock among music fans

There's a lot of concern and uncertainty in the world of music. The legendary guitarist Carlos Santana fainted in the midst of his concert in Clarkson, Michigan and had to be brought to a hospital right away.

The 74-year-old rock legend had spent 40 minutes playing in Clarkson's Pine Knob Music Theater when he sat down and appeared to lose consciousness, TMZ reports.

The concert was part of Santana's 'Miraculous Supernatural 2022 Tour: Santana + Earth, Wind & Fire' - a highly anticipated collaboration.

Initially, the artist sat down in one of the modules. Then, he appeared to lose consciousness there.

Luckily, the people on his team quickly realized that something was wrong and attended to him immediately. They prevented him from falling to the ground and getting bruised.

Quickly, social media were flooded with videos and photos of the moment. In some of them you can see the worried faces of Carlos Santana's team.

Alberto Marchena Jr., doctor and podcaster, was one of the first to reassure the world about the artist's state of health.

"He seems stable, he did not lose consciousness and he raised his hand in greeting the public when he left the stage," Marchena Jr. commented on Twitter.

Obviously, the concert was suspended and all focus was on the health and condition of Carlos Santana.

The rock legend and one of the best guitarists in history is accompanied at all times by his wife Cyndi Blackman. She is also the band's drummer. In some of the videos of the event, you can see how panicked she is about her husband's collapse.

In the end, Carlos Santana's team published a reassuring statement on their website. They pointed out the cause of the fall: dehydration.

"Rock legend Carlos Santana was overcome with heat exhaustion and dehydration during a concert Tuesday night (July 5) in Michigan," the statement read.

It seems logical that the next concert has been suspended. It was scheduled for July 6 in Burgettstown, Pennsylvania, just hours after the blackout.

However, there is not much time for Carlos Santana to recover. The artist, who will turn 75 on July 20, has his next concert scheduled for July 8, in Noblesville, Indiana.

There's dozens of concerts on the horizon that will keep Carlos Santana on tour until November 13, where he is supposed to play the finale in Las Vegas.

The problem, beyond the dehydration of this concert, is that in December 2021, Carlos Santana had "undergone a cardiac procedure last December that forced him to cancel part of his residence in Las Vegas," Alberto Marchena Jr. said on Twitter .

It may not be a surprise if Santana has to suspend more dates on his tour. For now, the most important thing is his health and full recovery.
