Current fashion trends that might make us cringe in 10 years
These foam clogs have made an astonishing leap from garden shoes to fashion runways. They're everywhere, paired with everything from jeans to suits. They have even taken the form of platforms! In a decade, we just might look back and question our sanity.
Wearing workout clothes outside the gym is the epitome of comfort and cool right now. Leggings, sports bras, and tracksuits dominate our wardrobes, and many rejoice. But this trend might soon be viewed as a lazy style choice rather than the height of fashion. We shall see!
Contouring can transform faces into sculpted works of art. Yet, as beauty trends shift towards natural looks, this heavy makeup technique might seem overly dramatic. We might look back and wonder why we didn’t embrace our natural features more, or die a little when we see unproperly blended lines on our faces!

Slim and narrow sunglasses are a favorite among the fashion-forward crowd. Despite their chic appeal, their lack of practicality might soon make them seem like a silly choice. They started coming back in style around 2017 (as seen on Rihanna), but, as it goes, the time regular folk begin buying pairs is the time that they become hopelessly out-of-style!
Chunky, oversized sneakers have made a surprising comeback as a fashion statement. They’re celebrated for their comfort and retro vibe. But their clunky appearance might soon be viewed as more of a fashion misstep than a trend worth reviving. Like other current trends though, at least they are comfy!
This cosmetic procedure, aimed at giving a more sculpted look by removing cheek fat, is trending in beauty circles. While it promises a chiseled face, it might become a regrettable decision as natural, fuller cheeks come back into vogue. If that's the case, it will be especially hard to cope with for those who did it and see their face prematurely aging.

These miniature purses are adored for their cute, fashionable look. However, their impractical size makes them almost useless for carrying essentials. Looking back, we might laugh at our obsession with these tiny accessories that offered style over substance.
The return of early 2000s fashion has brought back low-rise jeans, velour tracksuits, and butterfly clips. It’s a nostalgic trip, but these styles might soon feel as outdated as they did before their comeback. The quirky, often unflattering elements of Y2K fashion may make us cringe in retrospect... and for many of those who lived through that confused period, it already is quite questionable.
This trendy men’s haircut, with its curly top and short sides, looks a bit like broccoli. It’s popular now, especially among younger guys, but it might soon seem like a whimsical mistake. Future generations could find this style as laughable as we find mullets or bowl cuts today.

Bucket hats have returned, becoming a staple in both streetwear and high fashion. They’re loved for their retro charm and casual vibe. But this accessory might soon be seen as a childish relic rather than a fashion-forward piece.
Thick, bold eyebrows have taken the beauty world by storm. They frame faces with dramatic flair, but as trends shift, these exaggerated brows might feel overdone. We might eventually look back on our more youthful selves and wonder what those overly drawn caterpillars were doing on our heads. At least we can always cut them back... unlike those caught in the dreaded over-plucking trend! Though for some, microblading is semi-permanent.
As of 2023, the fashion industry produced a startling 97 million tons of waste annually, according to Royal Waste... and the trend has only been to produce more and more cheap clothing that doesn't last long. Perhaps in a decade, when seeing growing piles of waste, poor quality clothes all over second-hand stories, and a worsening microplastic problem, we will cringe.
