Unforgettable: images from George, Charlotte and Louis at the coronation

We all know how difficult it is to take that family photo where none of the children are playing up, looking the other way, squinting, or pulling a face: nigh on impossible. But these are the shots that speak volumes and give the viewer the best memories of the event - like these funny, cheeky, and incredibly cute photos from the three children of the Prince and Princess of Wales.

We start with Prince George, the eldest of the three siblings, who had a very important role to play at his grandfather's coronation. His cheery face on the balcony is a relief after the nerves of the morning had disappeared.

George was full of smiles and wonder as he pointed something out to another page alongside him on the balcony. The flypast is always a highlight of any royal event.

During the coronation, Prince George was a page: there to welcome the king and assist in carrying his train - a huge responsibility for the 9-year-old. His brain was focused on the task while his mouth seemed to have a mind of its own.

The solemn look from Prince George in the morning made your heart go out to him. The young royal was perhaps very nervous about not messing up his duties in front of the whole world.

But the next day was a different story altogether. The wonderful concert at Windsor Castle was thoroughly enjoyed by all and we love this shot of Prince William sharing a moment with his eldest son.

Of course, there will always be the moment a photographer snaps you when your dad waves a flag in your face.

Next in order of age, we have Princess Charlotte. She attended the ceremony on Saturday 6th May hand in hand with her younger brother. The young princess' behaviour is often exemplary at royal events.

Princess Charlotte was photographed heading to the ceremony in the morning, looking a little eerie with the rain-splattered windows.

When she is older, Princess Charlotte will not be a royal to be messed with. Her sharp look, as she entered Westminster Abbey, pierced through to the soul of those behind her.

The young princess, having just celebrated her 8th birthday at the beginning of May, waved to crowds from the balcony. Although she normally looks very regal, she was snapped looking up at the flypast and squinting at the sky, causing her to pull a face. She has nothing on Louis' expression, though, who looks nothing short of wild!

It was wonderful to see both George and Charlotte enjoying the coronation concert so much. Charlotte let her hair down and showed her childhood excitement at the magnificent show happening in front of her eyes.

The beautiful innocence of Princess Charlotte waving a Union Jack mini flag was a beautiful moment captured by this photographer.

Prince William started the trend. In the crowd, childhood fun was rife as the Wales family flicked flags in each other's personal space, causing Charlotte to pull quite a face. Attack!

And we arrive at the lovable face of the youngest member of the family (bar the dog) - the cheeky - and marvellous - Prince Louis.

A much-loved member of the royal family - Prince Louis made another public appearance since his enjoyable spotlight at the Late Queen's jubilee. The five-year-old entered the Abbey calm, cool, and undeniably cute.

Walking into the church, Louis let out a little yawn. Sitting in the grand abbey, where the coronation took place, the young prince couldn't help himself letting out an even bigger one. A very tiring day for one so small.

Despite his obvious tiredness, little Louis found something to entertain himself - which he then pointed out to his sister. The iconic Westminster Abbey has been used for coronations since 1066 and is steeped in history, full of art and artifacts that would surely impress anyone.

But the little prince was at it again when in the comfy confines of his carriage with his family. No wonder we didn't see him at the concert the following day - it would have been well past this gentleman's bedtime.

The carriage took the family from Westminster Abbey to Buckingham Palace. A rather short ride - but it seems Louis didn't think so as he pouted at the crowds standing in the rain.

Always a great focus for the royal balcony appearance. Prince Louis shared glances as he looked up at his mother, Princess Catherine, with a poke of his tongue. Just a child at the end of the day, the Princess of Wales saw the funny side.

Louis caught eye of the helicopters coming in as the flypast began. Quizzically, he stared up at the skies.

The look of curiosity swiftly turned to disgust, while both his parents stayed blissfully unaware. Prince Louis is undoubtedly a real highlight of the royal family's public appearances, never failing to make us laugh - yet, at the same time coo with cuteness overload.
