The 'Five-Timers Club'

An elite members-only club exists for those who have hosted SNL five or more times. Hosts become official members of the 'Five-Timers Club' when this milestone is reached and the proud moment is highlighted during the host's 5th show.

Kristin Wiig

Kristin Wiig was a beloved cast member on SNL from 2005-2012. She is the newest member of the 'Five-Timers Club,' hosting for the 5th time on April 6th, 2024. Her big moment was celebrated with a number of celebrity cameos including Martin Short, John Hamm, Matt Damon, Will Forte, Fred Armisen, Paul Rudd, and Ryan Gosling.

Emma Stone

Emma Stone has had a successful year having won both a Golden Globe and an Oscar for her lead role in 'Poor Things.' She has hosted SNL five times so far and
joined the club on December 2nd, 2023.

Woody Harrelson

On February 5th, 2023, the versatile actor hosted SNL for the 5th time and was presented with the traditional 'Five-Timers Club' jacket by fellow club member, Scarlett Johansson. Harrelson hosted the show for the first time on November 18th, 1989, during the show's 15th season.

John Mulaney

This talented comedian was a writer for SNL from 2008-2013. He has hosted the show five times, joining the club on February 26th, 2022. Mulaney co-created the beloved SNL character 'Stefon' alongside Bill Hader.

Paul Rudd

The ageless Paul Rudd joined the club during his unconventional hosting gig on December 18th, 2021. Unfortunately, the induction was informal as it occurred during the COVID 19 pandemic, when cases were high in New York and many staff were off sick. He was eventually given his official 'Fiver-Timers Club' smoking jacket during a sketch in which John Mulaney was also receiving his.

Will Ferrell

Farrell was an SNL cast member for seven years. Since leaving the show, he has returned five times as host. On November 23rd, 2019, he became a member of the special club. His role in the 'Flight Attendants' sketch from season 43, shows him at the top of his game.

Jonah Hill

The actor has hosted SNL five times and joined the club on November 3rd, 2018. On the episode, Hill was welcomed to the club by fellow Five-Timers, Tina Fey, Candice Bergen, and Drew Barrymore, who presented him with a sparkly version of the members' jacket.

Dwayne Johnson

On May 20th, 2017, Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson hosted the show for the fifth time. The actor and former WWE wrestler, was presented with his jacket by Alex Baldwin and joked with Tom Hanks about running for the President and Vice President in the 2020 election.

Melissa McCarthy

The hilarious Melissa McCarthy has hosted SNL five times and joined the club on May 13th, 2017. Perhaps her most memorable performance was her portrayal of White House Press Secretary, 'Sean Spicer,' for which she won an Emmy award.

Ben Affleck

The Boston native hosted SNL for the fifth time on May 18th, 2013. The actor marked this milestone by having Jennifer Garner, his wife at the time, join him on stage in a humorous attempt to clarify why he referred to their marriage as 'work' during his recent Oscar acceptance speech. Affleck is currently married to Jennifer Lopez.

Justin Timberlake

Justin Timberlake hosted his fifth episode of SNL on March 9th, 2013. During three of these episodes, he was also the musical guest. His musical collaborations with Andy Samberg have become SNL classics.

Bill Murray

Bill Murray was an SNL cast member for three seasons, from 1977 to 1980. On February 20th, 1999 he hosted the show for the fifth time and secured his membership in the 'Five-Timers Club.' Murray has gifted the world with vintage sketches like, 'Nick the Lounge Singer' and 'Oscar Predictions.'

Candice Bergen

The 'Murphy Brown' actor has hosted SNL five times and joined the elite club on May 19th, 1990. She has also made appearances on the show to welcome new members to the club.

Scarlett Johansson

The actor is married to Colin Jost, current SNL cast member. She has hosted the show six times and joined the club on March 11, 2017. Johansson's exceptional impression of Ivanka Trump has been a favourite among viewers.

Tina Fey

This talented actor, writer, and producer worked on SNL for 1997-2006 and began her career there as a writer. The SNL alum became a member of the 'Five-Timers Club' on December 19th, 2015 and has hosted a total of six times.

Drew Barrymore

Drew Barrymore holds the title of youngest SNL host, having hosted when she was only 7 years old. Since then she has hosted the show six times and officially joined the 'Five-Timers Club' February 3rd, 2007. Among the female 'Five-Timers,' she leads with the most hosting gigs.

Danny DeVito

This famous television and film actor has hosted SNL six times and became an official club member on January 9th, 1993. Since 2006, he has played the role of 'Frank Reynolds' in the dark comedy 'It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia.'

Elliott Gould

This American film and television actor has hosted SNL six times and became a proud member of the 'Five-Timers Club' on February 16th, 1980.

Christopher Walken

The incomparable Christopher Walken has hosted SNL an impressive seven times. He joined the club on May 19th, 2001 and will forever be known for his part in the brilliant 'More Cowbell' sketch that also featured Will Ferrell.

Chevy Chase

Chevy Chase was an SNL original cast member and was featured on the show from 1975-1976. While he was only a cast member on the show for two seasons, he played a significant role in the initial success of the show. He has hosted SNL eight times and became a 'Five-Timer' on December 6th, 1986.

Tom Hanks

The Oscar winner has hosted SNL a remarkable ten times. He joined the club on December 8th, 1990 and has brought us such characters as the creepy 'David S. Pumpkins' and 'Mr. Short-Term Memory.'

Buck Henry

Between 1976 and 1980, Buck Henry hosted SNL ten times. On November 19th, 1977 he became the very first person to be inducted into the 'Five-Timers Club.' Henry passed away in 2020.

John Goodman

The great John Goodman has served as SNL host a total of thirteen times. He reached the five year milestone on May 7th, 1994 and has played memorable roles including the mother of the 'Church Lady,' 'Wilford Brimley,' and The Chicago Bulls 'Superfan.'

Steve Martin

Steve Martin was the fastest celebrity to join this elite club requiring only 546 days to reach this milestone on April 22nd, 1978. He has hosted an impressive sixteen times and always boosts viewership for the show.

Alec Baldwin wins the title of celebrity who has hosted the most

Having hosted the show an incredible seventeen times, Alec Baldwin is a fixture at SNL. He joined the 'Five-Timers Club' on December 10th, 1994. When not hosting, he has made many cameos to help induct new members to the club and perform his impression of Donald Trump. Baldwin made his most recent appearance on November 11th, 2023.

Paul Simon - Honorary Member

The legendary musician has hosted SNL four times, has been a musical guest 13 times, and has made numerous cameos on the show. His contribution to the enduring sketch show is worthy of this honorary induction into the 'Five-Timers Club.'
