2021 saw Trump finally out of office, we are pretty sure that Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau couldn't be happier! Imagine having to work closely with the WORST.NEIGHBOR.EVER. And having to do so in a polite and professional manner.

Pictures don't lie...

Trudeau pulled it off but pictures don't lie. Have a look at some photos that expose how Trudeau really felt about Trump during his time in office.

The Handshake

When Trump became President of the United States, the public quickly noticed his very aggressive handshake. When PM Justin Trudeau was invited to the White House to have his first official visit with Trump, he knew he had to prepare for 'the handshake.'

Equal force

Luckily, Trudeau pulled it off and with a smile on his face. He met Trump's aggressive handshake with equal force and made Canadians proud. And every handshake since was smooth sailing...

Keeping The Distance

In many of the group photos that include Trump and Trudeau, we rarely see the two placed close together. Is it a coincidence?

Is it a coincidence?

We think not. We think Trudeau tried to stay as far away as possible from his orange American 'friend'.

The Power Grip

In most of the photos that we've seen, it looks like Trudeau is trying to stay as far away from Trump as possible. However, Canada's Prime Minister knew he also had to assert himself and show Trump he wasn't afraid. Gripping Trump's shoulder while shaking his hand, and the look on Trudeau's face say it all: "Don't mess with Canada."

Body language 101

We also noticed that in many, many photos PM Justin Trudeau seems to be angling his body or his face away from Trump. The polite, forced smile on his face here and the angle of Trudeau's face is a clear sign of distaste for the ex-president. And speaking of distaste, check out the look on Melania's face here!

Just nod and smile, just nod and smile...

Justin Trudeau isn't a rude guy, and in many of the photos with Trump, we see him with a strange grin on his face. We can imagine him speaking to himself and saying, "Just nod and smile Justin, nod and smile," while humoring Trump as one would a senile grandfather.

This is so awkward...

Once again, we see PM Trudeau turning his body slightly away from Trump. Notice also the awkward grin. We can only imagine what nonsense Trump was spouting at him while rudely pointing at Trudeau.

A sign of power and dominence

Here we have yet another handshake photo. This one is particularly interesting due to Justin Trudeau's body language. Body language experts say that a wide-legged stance can indicate power and dominance. We think Prime Minister Trudeau wanted to make it clear to Trump he would not be bossed around.

Positive body language

In contrast to his photos with Trump, Trudeau's photo with the Prime Minister of Japan is an excellent example of positive body language. In this picture, we can see how Trudeau's body is turned inwards towards his companion and how he is gently clasping his hand. Obviously, Trudeau feels much more comfortable and has positive feelings towards the Japanese leader.

That telling smirk

Even though Trudeau tried hard to be polite and neutral when Trump was around, nobody is perfect! This picture captures a telling little smirk on the PM's face as he watched Trump walk by him. We can't help but imagine he was thinking, "What a clown!"

Stuck with each other...

Both Trump and Trudeau's facial expressions are a poem in this picture. We can imagine they are both thinking, "I can believe I am going to have to deal with this guy!"

'The Handshake' Part 3

Here we see Trudeau tolerating yet another awful handshake from Trump. The look on Justin Trudeau's face is just so awkward. You know he is just wishing for the moment to be over.

"Thank goodness it is over!"

Luckily for Trudeau, and for all of us, the days of having to put up with Trump's antics are over.

Or are they? Leaving Washington with a lonesome goodbye, Trump said repeatedly: "I'll be back!"
