Where does Henry Cavill come from?

Henry William Dalgliesh Cavill was born on 5 May 1983 on the British island of Jersey. The son of a secretary and a stockbroker, he was the fourth out of five siblings.

Henry Cavill at boarding school

Henry Cavill spent several years at the Stowe School, a boarding school in Buckingham, England. This photo comes from the school's yearbook. The actor recalls in Details magazine that he was bullied as a child. They used to call him 'Fat Cavill' at school.

Actor from a young age

Henry Cavill began to flirt with the world of acting when he was still a child. He began to play classic characters in the school theater.

He also wanted to be a soldier

While acting was his first choice, Cavill has also revealed in several interviews that he wanted to be a soldier or a historian when he was younger.

Henry Cavill says became certain of acting when, as a child, he met actor Russell Crowe. The Australian star came to his school to film some scenes for a movie. Henry was an extra in the scenes and took the opportunity to ask Crowe for advice.

The Witcher

One of Cavill's best known roles is that of the Witcher in the gripping fantasy series of the same name. In late 2019, the actor appeared on millions of home screens as Geralt of Rivia, a very powerful wizard who, in addition to hunting monsters, set out to protect a young orphan princess.
