Kanye's divorce from Kim Kardashian: a tough settlement in the millions
Almost two years after filing for divorce, in February 2021, Kim Kardashian managed to reach an agreement with her ex-husband Kanye West. It has not been easy but it definitely fruitful as far as the figures of the agreement are concerned.
TMZ was the first media outlet to reveal the numbers of the divorce agreement. It took a little less than a month after the start of the trial for the ex-couple to sign the papers.
For starters, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West will have joint custody of their four children: North, Chicago, Saint, and Psalm.
Of course, TMZ suggests that everything continues as before and the four minors will spend much more time with Kim Kardashian than with Ye. In fact, it estimates the time they'll spend with their mother at 80%, compared to 20% with their father.
Financially, the numbers are overwhelming. Kanye West will have to pay $200,000 a month to Kim Kardashian for the support of her four children.
In addition, the singer will have to cover 50% of the educational expenses of his children, tuition included, as well as half of the security expenses of the minors.
The agreement includes that this amount has to be paid on the 1st of each month and will go directly to Kim Kardashian's account. If we do the math, we are talking about 2.4 million dollars a year.
With regard to decisions about the children's upbringing, the parents have agreed that they will always negotiate. However, if one of them is not there, the other will have full power.
After the request for divorce from Kim Kardashian, Kanye West bought the house next to the businesswoman's mansion.
Kanye West spent 4.5 million dollars on a house of 339 square meters (3,700 ft) with five rooms. It now passes into the hands of his ex-wife.
TMZ suggests that Kim Kardashian will probably tear this house down and built another, bigger mansion in its place.
Ye keeps his mansion of 60 million dollars in Malibu, two ranches in Wyoming, 300 acres in Calabasas, a house in Belgium, and his childhood home in Chicago.
Meanwhile, Kim Kardashian keeps her home in Idaho and the mansion in Hidden Hills (valued at $60 million) where she lives with her four children.
According to TMZ the relentless Laura Wasser was the architect of the agreement. It wasn't easy for Kanye at all. He changed lawyers up to 12 times.
With multiple houses, four children, and quite the emotional baggage, this was one of the most unexpected and tumultuous divorces Hollywood has seen in recent years.
In fact, in the time it has taken to reach this agreement, Kim Kardashian has had time to start and break off a relationship with Pete Davidson.
