The Met Gala, a fundraising event for the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, normally takes place in the month of May. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, however, it had been moved from May 2020 to September of 2021. A long wait, but the stars and their outfits made it worth it!

Lil Nas X walked the red carpet wearing a golden cloak, which he removed to reveal a golden suit of armour. Later he would go one step further and reveal a body suit. The ensemble was designed by Atelier Versace.

Kim Kardashian's unusual look was designed by Kayne West himself.

Korean-American actor and filmmaker Eugene Lee Yang caught our eye with his red heels.

Rihanna wore black from head to toe, stunning the crowds in this unique look from Balenciaga.

JLo surprised in an original look by Ralph Lauren.

Billie Ellish had an air of old Hollywood in her Oscar de la Renta gown.

Simu Liu and Channing Tatum were a handsome pair at the MET Gala. Tatum said girlfriend Zoe Kravitz managed to convince him not to appear in Crocs!

Grimes caught the public's attention with her 'Dune' inspired look which she accessorized with a sword.

Of course everyone was talking about AOC's dress which said 'Tax the Rich" which was designed by creative director Aurora James of Brother Vellis.

Simone Biles wore a crystal encrusted silver gown, from Beckett Fogg and Piotrek Panszczyk’s label Area that weighed a shocking 40kg (88lb).

This was Dan Levy's first MET gala and he took the opportunity to make a statement with this ensemble by Loewe.

Mykal Kilgore made a royal appearance at the Gala. The star credited  his wardrobe to Dapper Dan Harlem and his hair to Sabine Bellevue on his Instagram account.

Gabrielle Union wore a jaw-dropping, metallic gown by Iris Van Herpen. Kenneth Nicholson looked smart in a blue gown he designed.
