Pamela Anderson's documentary: the most shocking revelations
With the January 2023 release of the Netflix documentary 'Pamela, a Love Story' and the memoir 'Love, Pamela,' more and more shocking details about the life of Pamela Anderson are beginning to surface.
Pamela's personality has often been associated with the bimbo image she was given for the type of characters she played. The scandalous press about her love life and a leaked, intimate video of Anderson and her husband Tommy Lee certainly didn't help.
As she uses the documentary and book to counter the shocking stories the media have told about her, Pamela Anderson herself, in turn, reveals things that were previously unknown and appalling about her life and Hollywood career.
These are the most shocking things we learned from Pamela Anderson's Variety interview, the preview of her memoir, and her Netflix documentary 'Pamela: A Love Story.' They involve stories of abuse, so take care. And they also tell of misbehavior by famous men, so prepare to be shocked!
We've kind of known this, following her love life, but Anderson herself admits that, from a young age, she had an interest in bad boys. "As I matured, I noticed most of my boyfriends were bad — and progressively got worse," she writes in her memoir.
Her book recalls a violent incident with her first serious boyfriend in high school. "He pushed me with his foot so hard, I had no choice but to open the door when the car was moving and rolled straight into a ditch."
Both in her book and in the documentary, 'Pamela, a Love Story,' she reveals that she was abused by a 25-year-old man when she was 12. In addition, she was molested by her babysitter and assaulted by a group of her high school boyfriend's friends.

In an interview with Variety, she says: "Predators look for somebody to do things to that are so humiliating you’d be embarrassed to tell somebody. Those kinds of things really color the rest of your life."
"You block things out or you’re gonna deal with it later — and I'm dealing with it now," she adds.

Pamela Anderson also wants to help other victims of gendered violence. She tells Variety: "I hope anyone in danger understands they can go to people for help if they are in an unsafe or uncomfortable situation, especially around a lot of people."
Pamela Anderson told a few stories about male colleagues in Hollywood who treated her as an object of lust. Some of these come from her memoir, others from the documentary.
On her first day of filming 'Home Improvement' in 1991, Pamela Anderson remembers coming out of her dressing room and running into Tim Allen wearing a robe.
"He opened his robe and flashed me quickly — completely n a k e d underneath," she recalls in her memoir. "He said it was only fair, because he had seen me n a k e d. 'Now we’re even.' I laughed uncomfortably."
Another awkward incident was that of Jack Nicholson's threesome that she witnessed. "Mr. Nicholson had two beautiful women with him..."
"I walked by to use the mirror, bending over the sink to fix my lip gloss. Trying not to look, but I couldn't help myself and caught his eye in the reflection."
About Sylvester Stallone, Pamela Anderson recalls in the documentary: "he offered me a condo and a Porsche to be his 'No. 1 girl.' And I was like, 'Does that mean there’s a No. 2? Uh-uh... [And] he goes, 'That's the best offer you're gonna get, honey. You're in Hollywood now.'"
In reaction to the documentary, Stallone said this conversation never happened. His representative calls it "false and fabricated." Tim Allen similarly denies that he exposed himself to Pamela Anderson, CNN reports.
The comments she was subjected to, both in dressing rooms, afterparties, and in the supermarket, made her feel ashamed about her body, Pamela Anderson recalls.
As opposed to what we might expect, working for P l a y b o y was actually the thing that made her feel more confident. She felt she had more control over her image when she was posing for the adult magazine.
Considering the star Pamela Anderson became within 'Baywatch,' one might think that she profited handsomely from the series. As she reveals in Variety, however, this was not the case. Anderson said she only made $1,500 per episode in the first season.
"I just didn’t have the representation back then," she explains. "Or the know-how. You don’t realize when you’re doing a TV show that it's going to be that popular, so you kind of sign your life away."
Anderson and Tommy Lee's son Brandon, who produced her documentary, chimed in on the conversation about 'Baywatch' profits in Variety magazine. "She was definitely being taken advantage of," he said. "And it still feels weird how there hasn’t been some sort of discussion with Amazon or the 'Baywatch' producers to get her fair share."
In 1998, Anderson caught a French teenage girl inside her Malibu house one day, wearing her red Baywatch swimsuit and carrying a letter that read "I'm not a lesbian, but I dream of you." After that episode, Pamela more and more withdrew herself and her sons from the public.
In 2010, Anderson lobbied high-ranking Russian politicians to prevent the import of seal products. At some point, she was in close contact with President Putin, she tells Variety.
"Putin was only in the room once, but he heard of everything. I would get messages from other people that he was pleased that I was there — he kind of got a kick out of me."
When Pamela regularly visited the WikiLeaks boss at the Ecuadorian embassy in London, between 2014 and 2018, journalists speculated that she had a relationship with the man wanted for hacking U.S. government information (as well as an unrelated assault case in Sweden).
As she tells Variety, Anderson and Assange had at least one "frisky" night together at the embassy. "It was romantic because it was so inspirational. He's so passionate about life and about everything... So there was definitely a connection. We would just talk through the night and drink mezcal and laugh and tell stories."
Was there anything more to her rendezvous with Julian Assange? Maybe she will let us know in another publication... For now, at least, she has turned some of Hollywood on its head with her shocking revelations.
