The 10 best cuisines in the world according to TasteAtlas
TasteAtlas, a gastronomic travel guide, draws up a ranking of the best national cuisines every year, based on votes by its users. In this gallery, we will discover which countries are in the latest top 10. Is your nation's cuisine on the list?
Beginning the list of the best 10 cuisines in the world, there's Peruvian food at 10th place. The most popular dishes are ají limo, aji Camarillo, and Lúcuma (a fruit used mainly in pastry making).

In addition to the nations' ranking, TasteAtlas also recommends the local restaurants most voted by the public for offering the best delicacies of each country, respectively. To live an unrepeatable Peruvian culinary experience, for example, La Mar Cebichería (Miraflores) and Isolina Taberna Peruana (Barranco) are confirmed among the top 3 suggested restaurants, while El Bodegón de Miraflores (Miraflores) makes its entry into the Top 3.

From 3rd place in the 2022/2023 ranking, Spain and its typical products drop to 9th place. Among the dishes and foods most loved by the TasteAtlas public, we have 100% Iberian Bellota Jamon and Arbequina oil.

The French rise one position compared to the previous ranking. They reach the eighth position. Among the most popular dishes and ingredients are: Honey from Provence, Moules de Bouchot de la Baie du Mont-Saint-Michel (Bouchot mussels from the Bay of Mont-Saint-Michel), and Comté cheese.

Among the French cuisine restaurants recommended by users of the TasteAtlas gastronomic guide, we have Julien (Fouday), Restaurant Paul Bocuse (Collonges-au-Mont-d'Or), and L' Air de Famille (Toulouse).

Among the best cuisines in the world, according to TasteAtlas users, is Mexican cuisine (nr. 6). The most popular dishes and foods are vanilla Chinantla, Oaxacan cheese, and Cajeta (dulce de leche, a type of dessert).

These are the most acclaimed restaurants to enjoy the best Mexican culinary experience: El Mural de los Poblanos (Puebla de Zaragoza), Casa Valadez (Guanajuato), Caesar's (Tijuana). The three restaurants are reconfirmed from the previous edition.

The sixth position goes to Indonesian cuisine. TasteAtlas users were fascinated by Bawang goreng (a traditional dish made with fried onions and shallots), Mangosteen (or Garcinia mangostana, a tropical fruit), and Satay (similar to a meat skewer).

These are the top-rated restaurants where you can savor Indonesian delicacies: Warung Mak Beng (Sanur), Raf Babi Krispi (Denpasar) and 1945 Restaurant (Central Jakarta)

We reached the top five in the rankings. Chinese cuisine takes fifth place, especially thanks to these dishes and ingredients: Jinxiang Da Suan (white garlic typical of the Jinxin region), soy sauce, and Jiaozi (steamed dumplings).

You can taste these typical dishes from Chinese cuisine directly in the following restaurants: Wang Fu (Hong Kong), Gosto (Macau), Jesse (Shanghai) and Hai Jin Zi (Shanghai).

Portuguese cuisine is 4th in the Top 10 of the best cuisines in the world. TasteAtlas users particularly liked Carne dos Açores (Azorean meat), Queijo Serra da Estrela, and Presunto do Alentejo.
Among the Portuguese restaurants recommended by TasteAtlas users, we have Pastéis de Belém (Lisbon), Restaurante Casal da Penha (Funchal), and Os Três Pipos (Tonda).
Greek cuisine, however, moves from second place in 2022/23 to 3rd place in the latest ranking. The most loved ingredients and typical dishes are Fava Santorinis (a kind of yellow pea cream typical of the Cyclades), Kalamata olives, Fystiki Aeginas (Greek pistachio) and Rodakina Naoussas (local peaches).

For Greek cuisine, the TasteAtlas guide lists the restaurants most voted by users. They are To Antik ris to (Chanea), Peskesi (Herakleio), and Taverna Ninos (Corfu).

With an average of 4.65, Japanese cuisine ranks second among the best cuisines in the world. According to TasteAtlas, its users' favorite dishes and foods are Red tuna, Wagyu meat, and Ramen.
The best Japanese restaurants according to TasteAtlas users are: Nihombashi Kakigaracho Sugita (Chūō), Nishiazabu Taku (Minato), and Sushi Miyakawa (Sapporo)

Italian cuisine confirms itself in first place again this year for TasteAtlas users. Despite having obtained the same average as Japanese cuisine, the highest-rated Italian dish obtained a higher score than the first of the Japanese dishes. In short, the pizza won!

Finally, these are among the best Italian cuisine restaurants voted by the TasteAtlas public: Osteria Madonnetta (Marostica), Agriturismo Sapori Di Campagna (Ofena), Pizzeria Starita a Materdei (Naples), Osteria dell'Enoteca (Florence).
