The most expensive and spectacular wedding dresses ever
There are many factors that can affect the price of a wedding dress, such as fabrics, accessories, and above all the designer. In this gallery, we have borrowed part of the ranking of the most expensive wedding dresses in the world. It was created by Flowercard, a British website dedicated to weddings, and includes famous designs worn by celebrities and princesses who spared no expense for their "yes, I do."
Let's start with a relatively 'cheap' one!
It may seem strange to you, but as you will see in this ranking, the wedding dresses of princesses have been outbid by those of well-known celebrities. In the photo, we see Princess Diana's famous wedding dress, coming in ninth place in our ranking with a cost of 'just' 110,000 dollars.
It was July 29th, 1981 when a very young Diana Spencer slowly advanced along the aisle of Saint Paul's Cathedral, wearing this wonderful wedding dress made by Emanuel. 90 meters of tulle was used for the petticoat alone!
Meghan Markle also falls into this ranking of the most expensive wedding dresses in the world. She wore a wonderful masterpiece designed by Clare Weight Keller, Givenchy's creative director. Its approximate value, even if it is not the most expensive, is around 125,000 dollars.
Shortly before the princess-to-be entered the church, a suspicious woman dressed in navy blue got out of the car behind her. The same woman adjusted Meghan's veil just before she walked down the aisle under the incredulous gaze of an estimated 2 billion onlookers. It was none other than the designer of the dress, Clare Weight Keller.
We continue with royal weddings and mind-boggling figures. In this case, we are talking about the wedding dress of Marie Chantal Miller who married Prince Paul of Greece nearly three decades ago.
The wedding took place on July 1, 1995, in St. Sophia's Cathedral in London. The ivory dress embellished with pearls was made by the Italian high fashion house Valentino Garavani.
Chiara Ferragni could not be missing in a ranking of the most expensive wedding dresses in the world. For her wedding with Fedez, she wore three, all designed by Chiara Grazia Chiuri for the prestigious Dior house.

We are in the middle of the chart and dresses are starting to reach really dizzying figures. This is the case of the dress worn by the Duchess of Cambridge at her wedding to Prince William on April 29, 2011.
Sarah Burton designed the gown for Alexander McQueen. After the wedding, people could see the dress at Buckingham Palace during the exhibition 'The Royal Wedding Dress: A Story of Great British Design.'
And here in our ranking of the most expensive wedding dresses in history comes the second name not belonging to a royal family. It's influencer Kim Kardashian, who spent about half a million dollars on her gown when she married Kanye West. It was an exclusive affair, and images of the dress were limited for a happy few.
We are approaching the top positions with the dress worn by actress Grace Kelly for her wedding with Prince Rainier III of Monaco in 1956. The estimated value today for her beautiful dress is around $490,000.
The design of the wedding dress was made by Helen Rose, a well-known Hollywood costume designer, winner of two Oscars, and a great friend of the bride.
Second in the ranking of the most expensive wedding dresses in the world is the one worn by Victoria Swarovski. Its value is nearly a million dollars.
Alexandra and Paul Swarovski's daughter wore a Michael Cinco dress that weighed approximately 100 pounds and was embellished with more than 500,000 crystals.
At the top of the ranking, is the famous and wealthy Paris Hilton. She spent approximately 1 million dollars on the dress for her wedding to Carter Reum.
Hilton's dream wedding with Carter Reum was celebrated on 11 November 2021. For the occasion, she made four changes of clothes; in this photo, we can admire the item worn to cut the wedding cake.
In this image, the bride is joined by her longtime friend Kim Kardashian who arranges the veil on Hilton's wedding day.
