Celebrities and outstanding outfits at the $100m Ambani wedding

Anand Ambani married Radhika Merchant with ceremonies that concluded on the 14th July 2024. The cost of the nuptials was said to be in excess of $100m, as reported by the Economist. So, needless to say, the outfits had to live up to the hype (and wealth) for those who attended, including Indian cricket player KL Rahul and a whole host of celebrities...

To celebrate the wedding at the Jio World Convention Centre, the world was looking to see extravagance, celebrities and, of course, style. They delivered all three and we look at the most stylish and best dressed guests at the ceremony.

Mukesh Ambani, the groom's father is the richest man in Asia, with a net worth of $123.3 billion as of July 2024. So he has cash to burn. Gold was the main colour of choice for both outfits and the jewellery that accompanied the lavish garments.

Nearly all of the invitees wore traditional dress with the mother of the groom, Nita Ambani, dazzling guests and media alike at every stage of the there-day celebration. There were a few costume changes!

The bangles, the necklaces and head jewels glistened under the lights. We love this adornment from Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt who read the 'luxury' brief and turned up at the blessing ceremony looking a million dollars.

It was a fabulous opportunity for many, including Bollywood actress Janhvi Kapoor, to go 'all out' with their outfits. Jewels, crystals, gold, rhinestones - you name it. There was free licence and it was impossible to go over the top.

Those who attended respected the dress code. FIFA president Gianni Infantino - Italian/Swiss - even added a touch of bling.

There was no doubt in anyone's mind who invited Indian film director Atlee Kumar and wife. One may assume they were sitting on the groom's side.

It is nearly impossible for Priyanka Chopra Jonas to look anything but spectacular. At the ceremony she was, once again, a vision in amber next to her husband, Nick Jonas, in daring pink sequins. They didn't match but individually looked fabulous.

Included in this list 1) for the boldness of his colour choices and 2) because it is John Cena.

Bollywood actor Arjun Kapoor gave us House of the Dragon vibes and the detail was remarkable.

This outfit, worn by Indian actress, Janhvi Kapoor, pretty much sums up the luxurious wedding weekend over the 13th and 14th July 2024. Glistening, gold, detailed and adorned with jewellery.

The Economist tells us that "behind the innumerable beautiful saris at the Ambani wedding were thousands of designers, tailors and seamstresses". We only have to look at the mother of the groom, Nita Ambani (right), at her son's baraat in a number by designer Abu Jane Sandeep, covered in intricate beading and draped in jewels, to see the effort and styling that went into this wedding.
