Celebrities and their own Barbie versions
Celebrities have had their own Barbie dolls for decades. For example, Brooke Shields got hers in 1982. Have a look at some of the older famous Barbie models as well as the latest Barbies, each with their own identity and message.

Teen rockers New Kids on the Block also got their own line of dolls in the 90s. They were 'Kens' fashioned after each group member, from Joey McIntyre, Donnie Wahlberg, Jordan Knight, Danny Wood, and Jonathan Knight.
Actress and activist Yara Shahidi got her own Barbie version in 2019. It was part of a special series by Barbie manufacturer Mattel's. Its 'Shero' dolls were made to honor the accomplishments of female heroes.
Yara Shahidi is a classy Barbie doll, wearing a grey suit and looking like she doesn't take nonsense from anybody. Her T-shirt says: "Vote!"
The singer Katy Perry joined Mattel, the company that created Barbie, to make her doll in 2011. It has blue hair and a cupcake dress in the style of her video clip 'California Gurls'. The replica was auctioned for charity.

Barbie has always been known for having several professions, so in 2010 she became a successful writer as the doll version of JK Rowling.
The doll's accessories include artifacts that refer to the 'Harry Potter' saga, written by Rowling. The doll has somewhat of a serious look, evoking the elegant style of the famous writer.
Mattel has made four different dolls of the singer Cher: one in 2001 and three limited editions in 2007.
Cher's look from the video 'If I could turn back Time' is iconic. One of the dolls has this recognizable 80s look.
Zendaya, who acted in films such as 'Spider-Man' (2019, 2021) and series like 'Euphoria,' also has her replica in Barbie's world. She has proudly presented the Barbie as a doll looking just like her.
"When I was little, I couldn't find a Barbie that looked like me," the African-American actress said on Instagram. "Well, how times have changed. Thank you Barbie for this honor and for allowing me to be a part of your diversification and expansion of the definition of beauty."

The character Alicia Vikander played in the film 'Tomb Raider' (The Adventures of Lara Croft, 2018) was immortalized in 'Tomb Rider Barbie.'

"It's very strange... If someone had told me that I would play Lara Croft one day or that I would be a Barbie, I would have simply rolled my eyes (in disbelief)," Vikander said, according to Cnet.com. Her Barbie doll has become a particularly tough young woman.
Jennifer Lawrence has also had the honor of seeing her own image in a Barbie doll. It paid tribute to one of her most famous movie characters: Katniss from 'The Hunger Games.'
After the success of the film saga, Mattel decided to launch a replica of Jennifer in her role as Katniss Everdeen in 2013. The doll has everything she has, including a bow and arrow.

Top model Heidi Klum had her Barbie doll in 2009.
Heidi Klum's replica wears a striking mini dress with glitter that shows off her legendary legs. Her hair is curly, and she wears golden earrings and high heels.

American snowboard champion Chloe Kim got her own Barbie version in 2018. It was part of a series of female role models, created by Mattel to give girls the inspiration to reach as high as they wanted, whether it was in sports, art, or science.
The Barbie version of Chloe Kim has a great likeness to the Olympic athlete.

Shakira also has a Barbie in her own image. It was launched in 2002.

Model Ashley Graham also has her "mini-me" in Barbie. She asked Mattel to make it truthfully in her likeness, because she hopes that women accept her (and their own) curves.
"Rounded thighs, hips, arms and belly! Thank you Mattel and Barbie for immortalizing me in plastic," Graham wrote in her Instagram account in 2016.
The model Gigi Hadid is also part of the world of Barbie. She arrived there in 2017.
Her replica, which is a collector's item, wears an "outfit" from the Tommy Hilfiger brand. It's linked to the launch of the TommyXGigi collection in 2016. "I can't believe it's me," Hadid said on Instagram. "Thank you for the honor, Mattel."

Penélope Cruz also has her Barbie. It's made after the character of Angelica from the film 'Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides' (2011).
After making a Penélope in the 'Pirates of the Caribbean' style (left), Mattel decided to launch another replica of the Spanish actress. This time it was based on her character in the film 'Zoolander 2' (2016). The protagonist was called Valentina Valencia (and she's the Barbie doll on the right).
The singer Nicki Minaj got her replica in the Barbie world in 2011.
Nicki Minaj's doll is dressed like the cover of her album 'Pink Friday' Everything, from her tattoos to her hair, is pink.

Jennifer Lopez entered the world of Barbie in 2013. She had not one, but two Barbie models. "I think it was important to have a Latin Barbie," JLo said in an interview with Univision. "But a real one."
One of the dolls is wearing the outfit she used on her 2012 tour. It was designed by Zuhair Murad. The second doll (right) was inspired by the gowns she wears on red carpets, like the dress from the previous photo (the 2012 Oscar Gala).

Oprah Winfrey was also immortalized in a Barbie. In her case, it was the character of Mrs. Which from the film 'A Wrinkle in Time' (2018).
The Oprah doll was made by Mattel in 2017 and launched by Disney in 2018. 'Mrs. Which' is a woman of color with long blond hair.

Barbra Streisand had her own singing Barbie. Her doll was launched in 2010 as part of the Pink Label collection.
Her doll wears an iconic sailor costume that represents a costume she designed herself and wore at Hollywood's Cocoanut Grove in 1963. A real classic.
Over the years, Marilyn Monroe was replicated in the form of dolls and statues by several companies.
Of course, one of them was Mattel, portraying her in this mythical scene from the movie 'The Seven-Year Itch' (1995).
In 2019, the Japanese tennis star Naomi Osaka got her own Barbie doll. It was part of the 'Shero' series to honor the accomplishments of women. Osaka won several Grand Slams and is now the number 3 in the world ranking of female tennis players.
Osaka's sporty doll has the same characteristics as she does: big, curly hair (which she inherited from her Haitian family) and all the attributes of a tennis star.
The elegance of the actress Audrey Hepburn has been incorporated into several Barbie dolls.
When Mattel decided to honor the most famous stars in the world of cinema and fashion, a Hepburn doll was an absolute must to them. Her doll is the character Holly from 'Breakfast at Tiffany's'.
