This actress lives in a tiny, cluttered apartment with mice
Julia Fox is polarizing the internet with a tour of her cramped, messy New York city apartment. The short video has racked up millions of views on TikTok and triggered debate regarding celebrity humility and wealth.
Fox is a 33-year-old model and actress whose best-known role was in the film 'Uncut Gems' alongside Adam Sandler. She was nominated for the Breakthrough Actor Award at the 2019 Gotham Awards for her performance.
For a very intense second in 2022, Fox was propelled into the global spotlight for her very public and very brief relationship with Kanye West. In an interview with The Cut, she said the virality of the affair was just to "give people something to talk about" during the pandemic.
Fox is also known for her bold and daring fashion choices. However, her interesting style doesn't appear to have translated to interior design.
Fox told her followers on TikTok that she was giving the tour because she believes in "maximum transparency." "I know I'm going to get roasted for this," she said. "But maybe someone can watch this and be like 'OK, well maybe I'm not doing so bad.'"

She said she put her bed in the living room of her two-bedroom apartment so her original room could be used as a playroom for her son Valentino.

Her bedroom/living room also includes clothing and toys strewn about, a vial of her friend's ashes, and a "grow station where nothing is growing because we don't know what we are doing."

Keeping with the aesthetic of the rest of her home, the hallway is full of clutter, mainly in the form of toys and clothes.

A celebrity with just one bathroom (not 10) in their home is incredibly relatable. Fox described it as tiny but said it "does what it's supposed to do." It has a bathroom/shower and enough room on the sink rim for her products.

While we didn't see this in Carrie Bradshaw's apartment, Fox showed her decent-sized kitchen featuring regular appliances, a cotton candy machine and shoe boxes. The boxes, she said, are very common to see in New York apartments. "Don't judge me; it's very messy," she added.

She said she put the most effort into decorating her son's room, but said that he hardly ever uses it and instead hangs out in the main space most of the time. "Yeah, we're co-sleepers, sue me, I don't care," she said.

In sharing her very humble abode, she said "I don't like excessive displays of wealth, they make me feel icky. It's really wasteful when there are so many homeless people in this country." That statement was applauded by many in the comment section.
Less applauded, however, was Fox admitting that she does have a "little small mouse problem." But she said it's all a matter of perspective, and she "lets them rock." "I appreciate that they come out and clean up the crumbs that my son drops on the floor. So I'm not going to evict the mice anytime soon."
Fans were psyched to see the brutally honest and extremely relatable celebrity home. But others questioned the safety and hygiene of her home, especially when living with her little kid. Others questioned why she was living like that when she had money.
In a response to the comments, she said although she probably could afford a bigger place, it's her home. She also said she doesn't want her son to grow up to be a "pr–c k." "I want him to be in touch with the f*ng real world because I grew up in the real world, believe it not." She says she doesn't usually wear expensive clothes either, and if she does, they're borrowed.
Someone said the internet had her net worth at $30 million, but she said that's "not even close." She also advised her fans not to believe what celebrity net worth websites say.

Fox was born in Italy, where she lived for some years. "My whole family lived in a one-bedroom apartment, we were all crammed in, but it never felt like that, I never felt like we were poor there; life wasn't hectic," she told Vogue magazine. Later, she grew up in New York, where she and her dad were even homeless at one point.
