Where is Tiger Woods' ex-wife now? Elin Nordegren's life of scandals and heartbreak
Elin Nordegren is a Swedish model and the famous ex-wife of golfing legend Tiger Woods.
The marriage between the pair was full of controversy and scandals. Let's look through one of the most famous marriages from the early 2000s.
Nordegren moved to the US from Stockholm to work for then-Swedish golfer Jesper Parnevik after meeting his wife, Mia Parnevik.
Woods was introduced to her at the 2001 Open Championship. The champion golfer had been asking to meet her in the previous year, but she expressed she had no interest in him at the time.
In November 2003, the pair went to the President's cup in South Africa where Woods officially proposed to Nordegren.
The pair married at the Sandy Shores luxury resort in Barbados in October 2004. Woods hired out the whole complex for a week, costing around $2 million.
In September 2006, a couple of days prior to the Ryder Cup in Ireland, the Irish publication the Dubliner published fake pictures of Nordegren without clothes at the K club hotel.
After the pictures that surfaced on the internet were found not to be the Swedish model, Nordegren filed a lawsuit against the publisher and won 125,000 euros.
Woods announced after the US Open in 2007 the birth of the couple's first child, Sam Alexis. In February 2009, they announced the birth of their second child Charlie Axel.
The same year as the birth of Charlie, the relationship between Woods and Nordegren started to fall apart.
According to TMZ, on November27th, 2009, Woods crashed his SUV into a fire hydrant after Nordegren fiercely confronted Woods with a golf club.
Woods released a statement on his website stating that he was the sole person at fault for the crash and that he thanked his wife for helping him get out of the car.
It was reported that the crash and Nordegren's anger came from the fact that Woods had committed infidelity with numerous other women.
In December 2009, over a dozen women came out and admitted having affairs with Woods. Subsequently, he decided to take a break from golf to fix his marriage with Nordegren.
Jesper Parnevik, the man who helped Woods and Nordegren get together said on Golf Channel, "I feel sorry for Elin because me and my wife were at fault for hooking her up with him."
After numerous affairs, Nordegren decided to split with Woods and later filed for divorce.
The pair settled their divorce in Florida in August 2010 with Nordegren receiving a $100 million settlement figure.
Since splitting with Woods, Nordegren has had a couple of serious partners. She was with Philanthropist Chris Cline and is now with former NFL star Jordan Cameron.
In October 2019, it was announced that Cameron and Nordegren had their first child together called Arthur.
As of today, Woods and Nordegren are seen as much friendlier with each other, according to a source close to the Woods family, "they're fantastic with the kids, they communicate and the kids still see them as a parenting team."
