Meet the gorgeous Alba Baptista, Chris Evans' new wife!

Initially reported by Page Six & People, Chris Evans (AKA Captain America) has tied the knot with girlfriend Alba Baptista. But what do we know about the young beauty and how long has their relationship been going on?

Alongside some Avengers and Marvel costars, including Robert Downey Jr, Chris Hemsworth and Jeremy Renner, the pair quietly married at a Cape Cod estate on September 9 & 10, according to People.

Evans said 'I do' to his 26-year-old Portuguese girlfriend. Despite generally keeping his relationship private, he did go public in January 2023 in an Instagram story.

Insider claims the pair could have been dating since 2021 but were first spotted in public in November 2022. So how did they meet?

It is possible their paths met somehow in the movie/TV scene, but what we do know is that they hinted to the public they were together simply by following each other's Instagram accounts.

That's right, Alba Baptista is also an actor. Alba Baptista rose to fame in the US after developing an impressive filmography in Portugal.

According to GQ Portugal, she was the top searched term on IMDB for a time after the debut of "Warrior Nun," where she stars as Ava. A fantasy story that was based around a comic book - much like Chris Evans' Captain America role in the MCU.

Baptista was born in Lisbon on July 10, 1997 and began her career in Portugal before her English-language series debut in 2020.

Alba Baptista loved filming 'Warrior Nun' and it has been reported she did most of her own stunts, too. "I absolutely LOVED learning new physical skills and having to balance the physical and the emotional demands with such discipline," she wrote on her Instagram.

In 2022, she played Natasha, a 1950s Dior muse in 'Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris.' The film currently marks her most recent appearance on screen.

Despite relative success so far, Alba Baptista makes time to ensure she continues with those personal things she loves doing, including yoga and other outdoor activities. She says this keeps her grounded and allows her to focus better on her professional career.

Alba commented to W Magazine, "I need to recenter and reprioritize my passions outside of acting — hiking, doing yoga, going to the beach... It’s not just a preference. It’s a necessity to practice presence and be able to take on another role."

Yet, her dream has always been to be involved in the arts. "I wanted to be a painter, I wanted to be a pianist, I also thought about being a dancer. That is, I was fascinated with the art world," she told GQ magazine.

Alba Baptista was never really in the limelight in Portugal where she said "publicity didn't really exist." However, she had to get used to interview after interview as time went on and she became a more recognisable figure.

Now, with the sudden news of her marriage to Chris Evans, there is no doubt her popularity will increase. Perhaps, with her athletic physique and skills in stunt work, she could even appear in future MCU episodes.

But for now, it seems the actress is taking it slowly on the screen and focusing on enjoying her life with her husband. She even talked about the beauty of starting a family. Now that she's stolen Chris Evans' heart, he will surely be the one to raise a family with.

In 2022, she told W Magazine, "Nowadays I already see motherhood with different eyes. I now have friends and friends of friends who have children, have babies, and I look at them and I don’t know... It’s all so beautiful, the purity of the universe, the rebirth, all these clichés, I think it’s so beautiful." We wish them luck on their new adventures together.
