Hollywood star and former Republican governor of California Arnold Schwarzenegger has given Donald Trump one of the worst pieces of news he could receive just days before the US election: the Governator will vote for Kamala Harris.

He has made it very clear

The actor made his decision public through a long and thoughtful message on X (Twitter). It was an emotional message in which he did not mince words.

Anything but Trump

About the possibility of a Trump presidency, he said: "It will just be four more years of bulls *** with no results that makes us angrier and angrier, more divided, and more hateful."

Announcement on Twitter

Schwarzenegger explained why he was making this announcement despite having a personal aversion to the political game. "My time as Governor taught me to love policy and ignore politics," he wrote.

Disappointed in both parties

The former governor also said he was disillusioned with America's national politics. He didn't like either party at the moment; not the Democrats or his 'own' Republicans.

"An American before a Republican"

However, he emphasized, "I will always be an American before I am a Republican." In other words, for Arnold Schwarzenegger, the country goes before the political party he represented as a governor.

He can't "tune out" during these elections

So, even though he wants to "tune out" and ignore the presidential election, he can't, Schwarzenegger says. "Because rejecting the results of an election is as un-American as it gets."

"Rejecting the results of an election is as un-American as it gets"

The Governator is referring to 2020, when Donald Trump refused to accept that he had lost the presidential election to Joe Biden. It led to court cases, online hatred, and in the end, an angry mob storming the Capitol in Washington DC.

"This week, I am voting for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz"

Schwarzenegger rejects a man who doesn't respect the results of a democratic election. "That's why, this week, I am voting for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz," he concluded. He emphatically endorsed the Democratic candidates for the White House.

A Republican bastion of the 21st century

With Arnold Schwarzenegger, Donald Trump has not just lost a mere vote. He has lost the support of one of the most famous and respected Republican politicians of the 21st century. Schwarzenegger is a figure with a real impact on many voters.

He directly speaks to the undecided voter

The Austrian-born actor says: "I’m sharing it with all of you because I think there are a lot of you who feel like I do. You don’t recognize our country. And you are right to be furious."

Both candidates are bad, but one is worse

He describes Trump as "a candidate who won’t respect your vote unless it is for him, a candidate who will send his followers to storm the Capitol while he watches with a Diet Coke, a candidate who has shown no ability to work to pass any policy besides a tax cut that helped his donors and other rich people like me but helped no one else."

Critic of Trump for years

Arnold Schwarzenegger's rejection of Donald Trump is nothing new. He's been critical of him since the assault on the Capitol. When that happened, he defined Trump as "a failed leader." He said in a viral video he also shared on Twitter that Trump "will go down in history as the worst President ever."

Warns against division and hatred

This is why the Governator now says that a victory for Trump would mean "four more years of bull**** with no results that makes us angrier and angrier, more divided, and more hateful."

Move forward

"We need to close the door on this chapter of American history," Schwarzenegger concluded in his long message. I want to move forward as a country, and even though I have plenty of disagreements with their platform, I think the only way to do that is with Harris and Walz."

Hollywood for Harris

Schwarzenegger is part of a large and ever-growing group of Hollywood celebrities who have spoken out against Donald Trump as the presidential candidate. At the time of his message, a week before the elections, polls indicated that the race between Harris and Trump could be a close one.
