Liang Youcheng was a Chinese actor who was known for minor roles in Chinese costume dramas.
Not much was known about Liang Youcheng’s personal life prior to his death, as he was relatively new in the Chinese acting world, having only his first role, a minor one, in 2021. However, 163 revealed that he was a native of Sichuan, China.
163 had also reported that due to him being relatively new in the industry, with only minor roles to date, Liang Youcheng also did not amass a large following on his social media and was mostly an unknown actor, despite having been in the scene since 2021.
Prior to his passing, Liang Youcheng had a total of roughly 9 thousand people following him on Weibo, which is considered a small amount when compared to other Chinese actors.
Despite his limited resume, Liang Youcheng had been part of the iQiyi and Youku Chinese costume dramas ‘My Dearest’, ‘Flower Girl Tang Xiaoxian’, and ‘Fantasy Forest’.
Liang Youcheng had been cast in a new drama before his passing and was set to appear in ‘It Girl In Tang Dynasty’, reports The Star.
According to QQ, Liang Youcheng's death was underreported because of his lesser star power and fame, even though he passed away before Barbie Hsu on January 30. However, the two celebrities share a similarity in their cause of death, which was also due to complications arising from catching the "Influenza A" virus.
8days states that Liang Youcheng's flu-related illness progressed into a central nervous system infection, which can cause "inflammation of the brain and spinal cord".
Liang Youcheng's death was tragic for many reasons, but the fact that he passed away on the second day of the lunar new year and without any close friends or relatives by his side added an extra layer of tragedy. He was 27 years old. For him and his loved ones, what should have been a joyous occasion became a sorrowful one.
