Since his father, Donald Trump left the White House, glimpses of Barron Trump have been few and far between. However, this picture taken in July 2021 in New York City shows just how much the young man has grown and changed.

Barron Trump has not lived the life of any ordinary child or adolescent. Being the son of Donald Trump is not easy, especially once he became the President of the United States.

Perhaps that is why we see a somewhat serious and sullen child in public photos, trying to do his best under the gaze of a stern father and a loving mother who supports him unconditionally.

Barron's parents married in January 2005, a little less than a year before he was born. On March 20th, 2006, Barron William Trump came into the world, the fifth son of Donald Trump and the first child of Melania, his wife.

Melania adores her son and is said to be a very hands-on mother, despite being able to afford not to lift a finger if she didn't want to.

In an interview with People magazine in 2015, Melania said, "I like to be hands-on. I think it's very important. Barron is 9 years old. He needs somebody as a parent there, so I am with him all the time. As you know, my husband is traveling all the time."

While Melania may be totally dedicated to her son, the same cannot be said of Donald. In an interview with Parenting via Redbook, Melania spoke of Trump's involvement when it comes to parenting their son, "He didn't change diapers and I am completely fine with that. It is not important to me."

Melania continued, "It's all about what works for you. It's very important to know the person you're with. And we know our roles. I didn't want him to change the diapers or put Barron to bed. I love every minute of it."

As Melania's only child, Barron is undoubtedly spoiled, and only the best of the best will do. In an interview with ABC News in 2013, Melania spoke about how she used a caviar-infused moisturizer on Barron after his evening bath. "It smells very, very fresh," Melania Trump said of the caviar cream, "I put it on him from head to toe. He likes it."

Melania also spoke about how when Barron was five years old, he wanted to be just like his daddy, Donald Trump. To Parenting Magazine, she said, "When he was 5 years old, he wanted to be like daddy: a businessman and golfer. He loves to build something and to tear it down and build something else. He is very detailed at drawing. We travel often and he remembers everything he sees. Sometimes later the same day or the next he would build something like he saw or imagine something himself."

During his childhood, he attended Columbia Grammar & Preparatory School in Manhattan, which reportedly costs around $45,000 a year to attend. His mother didn't want young Barron didn't forget his roots and ensured that the youngster learned Slovenian, her mother tongue, as well.

While living in New York at Trump Tower, Barron had a very sweet setup. Barron had an entire floor of Trump Tower just for him. In Melania's interview with Parenting, she spoke of how she gives Barron creative reign on his floor; he could even draw on the walls. Melania said if he wanted to express himself by decorating the walls with his scribbles, it wasn't a problem because "we can paint it over."

Barron was a child who grew up in the spotlight. His father, omnipresent on television even before he made the leap into politics, liked to show Barron off on shows like 'The Apprentice' and the Oprah show when he was very young.

Barron has never known anything but fame, and yet he has always given the impression that it wasn't something he particularly liked. Several tabloids have written about how Melania Trump has protected him and taught him the importance of discretion.

Whether he likes it or not, Barron was born into a family that loves politics, business, and the spotlight of show business. All of Trump's other children: Donald Jr., Ivanka, Eric, and Tiffany, have all gotten involved in their father's business or political ventures. One can't help but wonder in what direction young Barron will go when he grows up.

When Barron was just ten years old, his father, Donald Trump, shocked the world by winning the 2016 presidential elections. Even though Melania Trump resisted the move to the White House initially, she wanted to stay in New York and for Barron to continue his studies and have a normal childhood. However, in the 2017-2018 academic year, Barron moved and changed schools, changing to St. Andrew's Episcopal School in Potomac, Maryland.

Barron Trump became the first boy to live in the White House in nearly 60 years. The last "First Boy" to live in the White House was JFK Jr., all the way back in 1961. Young Barron may not have had a whole floor to himself as he did at Trump Tower, but he still lived a lavish lifestyle.

According to Inquisitr, the White House staff "will know what every member of the Trump family likes, as far as food, snacks, and personal items. This will be stocked and waiting for the family so they can obtain it at a moment's notice."

Barron's serious facial expressions (some media even spoke of discomfort) have drawn the media's attention.

In the early days of Trump's presidency, Barron had to endure criticism from the more conservative press because they accused him of dressing too casually. Chelsea Clinton herself, the daughter of former Democratic President Bill Clinton, came out in defense of the teenager: "Barron has the right to be a child."

Barron Trump's wardrobe became an absurd subject of debate for some columnists and television talk show hosts. With Trump being an icon for conservatives, it is paradoxical that Barron became the target of the most reactionary opinion in the media.

As a result of these critiques, Barron disappeared from the scene, and since then, every time he has appeared in public, he did so in formal clothes.

There has been a lot of speculation about Melania and Donald Trump's relationship. Still, everyone agrees that Barron occupies a central place in Melania's life and that all her decisions take into account her son's future. Including a possible divorce that is often gossiped about but never seems to happen.

All the biographies written about Donald Trump describe him as a man to whom the obligations of fatherhood aren't important. Donald has been too absorbed in business, and television shows to pay attention to his children. Melania herself confessed in an interview collected by Vanity Fair: "He (Donald Trump) is very busy, and I take care of Barron."

In any case, Melania insists in interviews that Barron admires his father very much. Melania calls him "mini Donald" because she thinks that her son's personality is very similar to his father's.

Even though Barron's dad has been really busy his whole life with business ventures and politics, the two connect and bond over golf and dinner dates.

In an interview with People in 2015, Melania said that Barron and Trump "go alone for dinner, one-on-one" and "play golf together." It sounds a bit more like how Trump would treat a business colleague than his son, but if it works for them, who are we to judge.

One thing is clear though, Barron Trump's private life is kept under wraps. For example, who are his friends? It's a mystery. According to Vanity Fair, Melania once said: "He likes to play alone a lot." Undoubtedly the pandemic has not helped him to socialize.

There has been a lot of speculation about Barron Trump's allegedly withdrawn character. But we are with Chelsea Clinton: he has the right to be a child and teenager without being required to smile at all times. In any case, Barron has a bright future ahead of him, and he will soon be able to make his own decisions about his life.
